There's a Google post that states that:

"Landmark Education or the Forum as it is known now as was formerly known as EST... the creation of Werner Erhard, a former scientologist. Erhard was at the top of L. Ron Hubbard's hit list and a few years back when the Church of Scientology chased him out of the country via a trumped up abuse charge from his daughters. Erhard sold off EST to his brother and others who changed the name to Landmark Education. They toned down some of the harsher seminar tactics which had brought on psychotic breakdowns in some participants."

And MKP was spawned from Landmark.

I wonder if anyone has compiled a family tree of these con artists.
