If anyone is in Palm Beach, FL on April 25 or 27 you can see it at the film festival and maybe report on what you see:

"Werner Erhard, pioneer of the multi-billion dollar personal growth industry breaks a long silence about his ideas, his life and the controversial program est..."

You have to love the sneaky distortions that creep in, almost unnoticed....

"Pop culture icon and the founder of the controversial est seminar pulls back the curtain on his life, his ideas and the 'witch hunt' that forced him underground."

Witch hunt ? Witch hunt ?

Forced him underground ?

Notice, dear readers, how "apalling disclosures about Werner's so called transformative personal existence" are somehow transmuted into the purely passive voice of (N.B. the phrase "witch hunt" is most closely associated with McCarthyism and Arthur Miller's play The Crucible, one that made metaphoric reference to the McCarthy persecutions....whatever).... WITCH HUNT ! Nice old Jack Rosenberg was PERSECUTED.... hunted, just like a bad witch ! Evil, hateful dumb ass public can't get the heart of the matter.... that Jack, or Werner.... well, so saintly, so..... transformative, a veritable Joan Of Arc... a GANDHI ! He was BRANDED !!!!! HUNTED !!!! It's a burd ! It's a plain !!! NOOOOOOO....IT's ........SUPER-VICTIM!!!!!!!!

Oh let me just barf.

Absolutely right Nutrino, in fact it's the other way around: Landmark can't stand to have people talking about it and saying anything bad. Harry Rosenberg has said (and this is a quote from the Harvard business study thanks to Midonov123 for sending me that) "it is no longer possible for informed people or publications in the United States to pin pejorative labels on us." Yeah because they are silencing people who try to speak out by taking legal action against them! But they don't tell you that part of course...

oddity number one: this film doesn't appear in the Internet Movie Database.

oddity number two: Robyn Symon also doesn't appear in the IMDB.

no longer possible for informed people

Observe more of their trademark rhetorical slipperyness, like these guys should become spokespersons for Teflon....

A. "no longer possible" begs the questions, 1. when WAS it possible ?, 2, WHY was it possible ? aaaaand, on what authority do they assert that is is now "not possible" ? Note the ascencion to divinity here.... Rosenberg states (using the typical confused LECthink that conflates description of physical reality with matters of conjecture and opinion) that it simply "isn't possible" as one would be, say, stating Newton's Third Law Of Motion, (and attempting to elevate a murky philosophy to the status of hard science)

B. "for informed people" begs the question, 1. what constitutes an "informed person" ? 2. are they choosing to define an "informed person" as anyone who is in agreement with them and only such persons ? 3. if anyone, however educated or accomplished, does not agree with them, then does that automatically make that person "uninformed" (or infidel) ???, and 4, HOW did said "informed person" undergo this process of becoming informed ??? (you will note here a strong dependency upon circular logic here, a hallmark of, regrettably, an uninformed person.....)

These people have an awe inspiring capacity to load the worst garbage logic into the simplest of statements.... it IS a gift of sorts...

Such false reasonability, such pompous arrogance masquerading as humility, such manipulative crap.

SUPER VICTIM .... too true, too true!

This is EXACTLY what lgats specialize in: SPIN. More spin, better spin, faster spin till we're all DIZZY, DISORIENTED.

My head spins so fast whenever I try to follow the "logic" and "sense" in lgat "teachings". They're all about redefining, reframing, rethis, rethat.

Super victim. I love it!!!!!!!!

The exact point ISN'T logic and sense.... the point is to overload your critical thinking system with double binds, non sequiturs, emotional flooding, exhaustion, until you don't have your day to day protective bullshit detectors up and running.... LEC has a marvellous line for justifying their actions "we're more on your side than you are " (that's a scripted comeback they memorize, just in case).... translation: "anything you do to shield yourself is harming you, so stop thinking and go with our process, because you are too fucking dumb to get what we are all about".

I think the "witch hunt" refers to the problems he had with the Church of Scientology that prompted him to leave the US (forced him underground) in 1991. Doesn't it? That makes him a victim of Scientology, but I guess in his own logic he created that.

Is it not interesting ? Werner made such a big fat deal about integrity... integrity this, integrity that.... so, why could it be that the Church of Scientology was so fixated on Werner Erhard ???..... I mean, they weren't jumping all over the great profusion of other LGATs and mind science type organizations out there.... what WAS the great defining out-integrity condition of Werner vis a vis Ron that brought this so-called "witch hunt" into being.???.. to use their own logic, however convoluted it may be, IF Werner appropriated Scientology's teaching materials and included that in his presentation, THEN insisted that HE, werner erhard, was "source" (the identical term is used in Scientology to refer to Ron Hubbard)... was not then Werner Erhard grossly out-integrity ? Was he not failing to acknowledge the true "source" of his ideas and methods ? Would perhaps the Microsoft Corporation be pissed off and take severe actions if you "appropriated" their source code and released a product called Swodniw PX ? And could it conceivably be claimed that Saint Werner had no inkling of who he was dealing with, their attitudes and methods, any more than a matador who walks into a bullring can say he was charged by a strange aggressive massive quadraped only by chance ?

But, still, witch hunt ? Was there a criminal investigation of Werner's conduct ? Was he ever detained and questioned by the police ? Did anyone shoot at him ? Sure, he had the least flattering aspects of his life held up to public scrutiny for a brief period. But there was no sustained media storm. His racket got busted. He fled. He lay low. His dog and pony show was rebranded. Wherein was there a witch hunt ? Did he have to appear before a congressional committee and defend his theories or his behavior ? Did papperazzi stalk him ? Did he end up like Marlon Brando in Apocolypse Now, ruling over primitive jungle people and sweating profusely ?
