Haven't posted for a while but was concerned when I read about 'the secret' here.

I can confirm there are 'strong' reasons to see links between this and bob proctor & jack canfield.

I guess that's because there's a new wave of people out there that are web savvy but don't know bob's name ... yet.

I found out about 'the secret' as follows:

There are some hypnotherapists whom I 'rate' in the US (I'm in the UK) and I'm getting a lot of email bombs appearing on forums about how 'the secret' is changing lives etc. (BTW: surely that's the job of hypnotherapy, anyway). Like most on this forum I am hard-wired to distrust information when I'm told how 'true' and 'perfect' it is.

They are also strongly urging joing up to 'the law of attraction' which is on a VERY SLICK and professional website fronted by, guess who bob proctor and jack canfield.

And if you check out the affiliate link you will find you will get $500 for every person you get to sign up and buy the whole shooting match in a nice leather briefcase PLUS $250 for everyone that they get to sign up or join.

Sorry, but am I missing something? Doesn't THAT sound EXACTLY like a MLM up-line - down-line structure? Surely someone hasn't dressed up some good ideas in a snazzy suit And if you check the affiliate sign up T & C it reads just like amway, herbalife etc AFAIK, anyhow.

So, you've got a classic system whereby once they've conviced YOU to dump $1,995 down the tubes denial will force you to refuse to see you've been conned and providing you can con 4 more people you've got $2,000 back in your hand.

Also if you do read the website you will find a specific factual innacuracy that nearly all gurus tout, it's the one about goals and the percentage of people that they work for.

Robbins, Rhon and all the rest quote it but when researched it was proved that said research NEVER took place, NO records exist and the stuff was simply urban legend. just in passing, it always amazes me that I have clients who say 'I can't be hypnotised', which they can, and then go on to tell me that they've seen or heard something 'on the television' and therefore it must be true.

For the US read: Oprah, Ellen, etc.

We are less wacky but we do have a few.

People are pre-disposed to believe large volume information sources, such as tv, or newspapers but don't seem willing to test that information themselves.

The science of getting rich can also involve SEO and facebook ads management services. It helps in growing a business faster online and it helps in getting a lot of traffic to the business website as well. It was good knowing about other things that can help in getting rich. My brother will love this post, trust me.
