She behaves like an old style political boss with very little accountability. Babs uses her power to recruit more members in the Erick Gonzalez - Earth Peoples United drug cult. Babs Stevens is a devotee of Erick Gonzalez and participates in illegal drug ceremonies on Haida Gwaii. Even in the face of Masset RCMP warnings against this cult.

She is a devotee of Lency and Chuck Spezzano / Psychology of Vision. She keeps up with her yearly trainer fees and activities.

But Babs is more than a lobbyist for these two or three abusive groups. Babs controls the community funds. Locals have learned that they have to at least pretend to agree with Babs, or their access to school scholarships and home heating equipment may be jeopardized.

Babs Stevens leads an ongoing bullying campaign against any critics. Observers also note that her various activities do not seem to be helping her any personally, she is known for having emotional outbursts at inappropriate times.
