I am picking up the fiduciary duty cudgel again, and wondering if it might not be useful to compare how other professions charter and pay individuals who are serving in fiduciary roles.

I am wondering, for instance if the ABA, or the APA uses volunteer labor in compliance-related roles.

This seems to be a Landmark innovation.

I am wondering, too, how many dupes would line up to volunteer for roles, to which fiduciary duty was attached.

I took a look at the ICF's recent financial statement, and they don't seem to be spending much on labor, or research. Looks like the lion's share of their substantial budget goes for PR activities, the production of their AMWAY-like extravaganza events.

Anyone who has seen one of these things just has to wonder at the cheesiness of senior leadership (paid or unpaid), the level of education, professionalism.
