No "Adults in the Room"

What I can observe about the co-option of the coaching field, now complete, is that I kept waiting to hear from the "adults in the room"...the people who had serious skin in the game, the Ph'D's, the practice builders, or the builders of ancillary practices: management science, clinical psychology.

I have heard concern expressed in the lower echelons of these fields, great concern, but, cannot remember ONE 'esteemed' voice asking ONE question about this state of affairs.

I am wondering if this has to do with legal/professional liability. A clinical psychologist can have his/her license jerked, but what of the others? The worst thing that could theoretically happen is that they lose their certification by a cult, and a cult which is self-regulating.

Need to investigate legal exposure of academics, academic programs (cough), consultants, thought leaders (cough), media pundits (cough).
