I am not going to comment on most of this. People will form their own opinions.

There is just one thing that i would say about locked doors.

In an earlier post, dirtbikes stated that people were locked in. That would be a giant abuse of authority, and probably against fire codes. I also agree that parents should not be locked out of children's classes.

In this latest post, it is stated that students are locked out if they are late. Whether or not this is a bad thing depends on the circumstances.

I used to work in a metaphysical book store. We often had classes after hours. The instructors would pay to rent the space, and, of course, people paid to take the class.

Some of the instructors didn't mind if an occasional late customer would stray into the store for some incense, but in classes that involved meditation, this became very disruptive.

We didn't usually lock the door. I would turn on the "CLOSED" sign, turn off the display lights and lights to the front window, make up an 8" x 10" sign, saying 'STORE CLOSED. CLASS IN SESSION," in big red letters, and put it in the door, right at face level. People driving by would see cars in the parking lot, so would pull over and come in. When i would point out the sign, they would claim not to have seen it.

People would walk in, right in the middle of a meditation, and start talking at the top of their voices. They would walk right through the group looking for a book, and any attempt to "shush" them, on my part, was often followed by more loud questions. They knew it was after hours, but some would continue even after i bluntly told them, "We're closed."

Because of this, some places will briefly lock the door during meditations to prevent people from coming in, BUT people on the inside can still get out. In these cases, no one is trapped, or forced to stay. In some cases, this might be the reason for the locked door. It would be good to ask for an explanation.

Lol. I will never speak to these freaks. Unless my child ends up there again, then we are going to court. Thanks.

If you're not too busy, you'd be doing a service if you posted a description this set up and of the closed doors childrens class if it took place at a yoga establishment.

You don't have to name names. In fact, you can just copy and paste what you've written here and add it to the yoga thread and continue discussing things over here in the LGAT section.

Someone else may read your description on the yoga thread, maybe recognize the set up and add something to the discussion.
