Midonov,
Once again, you understand and explain this mind-mess so eloquently!
Yes, FYI, the history behind Quantum Physics as a physical expression of the power of our mind/counsciousness began with the Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement, through Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's promotion of this method to unify our brain waves through TM.
According to the teachings, we mortals could bring about World Peace, eliminate crime and wars, and create our own Utopia on a personal and global level through elevating our consciousness and purifying our thoughts.
Yes, Hagelin is a physicist from Maharishi University of Management (MUM), formerly Maharishi International University (MIU), also from Maharishi European Research University (MERU).
The original 'discovery' of Quantum Mechanics as a scientific metaphor for consciousness and thought came through Larry Domash's dissertation on the subject. Domash is/was physicist, who promoted these ideas in the 1970's to his guru, and then Larry was later made president of MIU. This helped to move Maharishi and Transcendental Meditation from fame of The Beatles and the Beach Boys, into the Scientific marketing arena (along w/ brain wave studies by Wallace & Benson). Maharishi was thrilled! I don't know what happened to Larry since. He was once Maharishi's Golden Boy.
Now Hagelin is the Golden Boy.
I was there as a teenager when this unfolded.
My mother is an Executive Governor of the Age of Enlightenment.
After Domash, Chopra came and went (to steal the concepts and make his own bankroll), Johnny Gray, many others.
Hagelin, as a physicist, teaches that we can fly, turn invisible, and walk through walls, change history and the stock market, become invincible and achieve immortality merely through our thoughts. He ran for president under the Natural Law party (more than once?.... I stopped following this a long time ago).
The Natural Law party (TM) teaches that when one is enlightened, their brain waves function coherently as an expression of the Unified Field. In the Age of Enlightenment (always just around the corner..) we will choose our governmental leaders through brain wave studies to measure their elevated level of consciousness. Thus "What the bleep.."s resources have political aspirations as well.
The Unified Field is TM's way of saying 'God' but attempting to sound scientific. Maharishi teaches his TM teachers that "we teach in the language of Science because this is the Age of Science. In a Spiritual Age we would teach about God. It doesn't matter because we bring them to enlightenment regardless."
It's business practice - Marketing 101 - know your customer base.
When people are hooked/ brainwashed/ high on endogenous opiates (from the TM technique)... then the Hinduesque New Age hooga-booga really comes out! And the higher level teachings come with ever larger price tags.
The teachers, including Hagelin, believe that these 'higher level of teachings' (the occult) are withheld at the entry level because novices are not ready for those teachings - it would be like teaching calculus to a five year old, so they say. As one's consciousness expands (and critical thinking diminishes) then the higher level of teachings are introduced gradually. Thus Hagelin believes that he does a service in deception.
They teach that when one is enlightened, has achieved a quantum level of consciousness (based upon Quantum Physics), then one does not have to work anymore. Just think your desires and they will be spontaneously fulfilled without effort on your part. That is pure enlightnement, where science and spirit merge.
They never explain what would happen if two neighbors or family members had conflicting desires.
...Oh, forgive me - I suppose conflict of desires is not likely to happen since everyone becomes automatons and would have identical desires, to accompany identical speech patterns, and we'd all create identical worlds...
IMHO, I suggest NOT to put stock into anything from Hagelin, including the selected references to him in "What the Bleep..."
The teachings are feel-good, make-you-spacey, "infantile omnipotence" (great term!) and useless in a physical reality & practical world.

midonov123Another guru promoting that the (Quantum Physics) Unified Field yields to INVINCIBILITY through a proper training of our Consciousness is Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. See for example:

It is interesting to note that Deepak Chopra got his training from Maharishi MY. Also, one of the most influencial physicist in the movie What the Bleep ... is John Hagelin a physicist from Maharishi University!
So you see, Werner Erhard - Physics of Concsiousness Research Group - -Distant viewing- New Age interpretation of Quantum Mechanics and Unified Field theory- Consciousness - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi - Deepak Chopra - What the Bleep do we know ...
it's all about "creating reality" leading to INVINCIBILITY or infantile omnipotence.
It's a Big market, big money making industry, it has a powerful influence in our western society, it creates new beliefs, ... but it's not science.
