there was another thread where we were discusing
or least i was mentioning the brain wash of the
right wing christians. i couldnt remember which
one it was so i am going to get it going again.

i mentioned how they were taught practically
from birth to hate everybody that doesnt think
just like them.

well here is a little mention again of staying
home that day.

the right wing preachers have drilled it into their
heads that if they cant vote republican they should
just stay home and not vote.

this of course takes away their power. if they do
what the church wants them to then they automatically stay home.

This should tip everyone off, if nothing else does, to the dangers of cult and religious mind control.

Do you know of any links to articles on this subject; Religious or Cult leaders brainwashing their followers on how to vote? There's someone I'd really like to send this info to. He keeps telling me how important it is to vote.

I know of another suspect "group" whose leader tells followers who to vote (or not) vote for. Have we forgotten how important the separation of church and state really is?

i dont have any links at the moment but i think
it would be interesting as the election draws
nearer to keep this thread open so we can
actually see it in action.

because their candidates have gotten
themselves involved in so much corruption
we will hear this over and over from many different
people.

in this article it was said in passing, the man theme
of this article is not "stay home that day " but
it was said again.

i have watched some of pat robertson on television
in the past and he did it on a regular basis.

lets keep this post alive and if any of us find anymore
article about the staying at home way of thinking
post a like here.

it could become very interesting to sit back and watch and study it as it goes along.

i heard it again today. i was watching a liitle television
and on one of the news programs some guy that
just released a book i think said that the republicans
just may decide to stay home that day.

its coming from everywhere.

the church putting this idea in peoples heads and the
people that lead the republican party have their
fellow republicans , min controlled in a sense.

they will just "stay home that day "

if any of u read it or see it on tv or whatever bring it here.
we can look at that way.

Hi patrick-darcy,

Although I appreciate your viewpoint, can you provide some details or links to support what you are saying?

 one of the news programs (which one)
 some guy (who)
 a book (what title)
 i think said (did he or didn't he say what)
 everywhere (where exactly, and really, [b:02dddf8226]every[/b:02dddf8226]where?)
:?: :?: :?:

Also, the "brain wash of right wing christians." Please define right wing christians. The link you provided in your first post on this thread did not mention Christians or staying home. I am confused as to the point you are really making. I would like to understand.

With some specifics, we can really discuss this. Without them, it seems you are just taking broad brush swipes, which I don't see as productive.

Thanks in advance.

heres another one from 1886

WASHINGTON, DC (CWN) - A Christian political lobbying group warned on Sunday that many conservative Christians may stay away from the polls on Election Day rather than vote for Bob Dole.
Martin Mawyer, president of the Christian Action Network, wrote in an opinion piece in The Washington Post that many pro-family conservative Christians feel ignored or betrayed by the Republican challenger to President Bill Clinton.
Mawyer criticized Dole's continued emphasis on economic policies, instead of concentrating on family issues and moral values. "When a candidate ignores our issues, we ignore him," said Mawyer. "He seems not to have noticed that our schools have begun to teach our children that homosexuality is normal, natural and healthy. Would Dole support or oppose the ongoing promotion of the gay rights agenda in virtually every Washington agency?"
Christina Martin, a spokeswoman for Dole, said the campaign believes Christian voters know what's at stake and will turn out for Dole. "Pro-life, pro-family conservatives will be active on Election Day because there is only one candidate out there who favors such liberal ideas as nine-month abortions, as gays in the military, as condoms for school kids, and that is Bill Clinton," she said.

The article you are referring to does not support your premise, which I am interpreting to be that right-wing religious leaders are brainwashing their more liberal listeners to stay home rather than vote against a chosen candidate.

Although this probably goes on, you have not as yet provided us with any supporting evidence. On the contrary, the links seem to provide evidence of the opposite; a personal decision to not vote for a right-wing candidate.

Quote

"I feel completely betrayed, not just by Cunningham but by the policies of the Bush administration," said Towers, a college math instructor who said he was tempted to avoid voting altogether. "I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Republicans are so disgusted they just stay home."
