I've received the same offer numerous times over the years. I'm told that because I'm such a nice guy they are going to give me, free of charge, five magazines of my choice - for 60 whole months!

Their only request that I pass the magazines along to others when I'm finished with them.

At the end of this free offer it is explained that there is some Postal Law that prevents them from including all the postage in their offer. I'm asked to share with them in that postage. But what the heck, that only amounts to about $3.50/week - for five top-notch magazines. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

It does unless you happen to have a calculator handy - which I always do. I've asked the caller, "How much does that postage add up to? The answer I receive is, "I don't know. I've never tried to figure that out."

I then explain that I have figured it out and it amounts to $840.00! "Here I am getting all these free magazines and it is only going to cost me $840?"

They usually then hang up.
