Boss Pushing Landmark Forum - what to do?

My boss keeps PUSHING me to go to Landmark Forum. I've done A LOT of research into it, and (guess how I ended up here) believe it's just an evil MLM using mind-control techniques. An organization that exists to resell itself.

However, I'm told if I don't go I'm not "a team player" and that he REALLY WANTS the entire management team to attend--it's considered 'professional development.'

I have stood up to him and said NO. Can he do this? Isn't this illegal?

contact an attorney outside your workplace who specializes in labor rights.

Before you have your first interview, write out a chronology--time, places, dates. Emphasize who, what when where.

Magic words are 'hostile workplace environment'.

Your attorney could also consult with Mr. Ross.

Update.. a year later: My non-willingness to "play their game" or go to LME was the turning point in my career in this company. Suddenly, I was asked to share my job, then they hired people to work for me that made twice as much as I did -- many manipulative tactics to get me to separate from them.

And guess what? I did! And it was the best decision I ever made.

I can't believe this is legal in the workplace, and I'm sure I could have litigated. However, that would have kept all this negativity in my life that I didn't want or need.

Good riddance.
