My friend recently attended a local United Pentecostal Church (for a girl) and found it quite awkward. Is it a standard procedure for UP's to convince first time members to leave their homes and live in the church (which looks like a warehouse)? Or drop out of school to become "full time missionaries". I have never heard of any United Penecostal church do such a thing. This sounds to me like an extremist group who split from the United Pentecostal church. Any thoughts? :?:

Okay...I failed to read the other topics and this should have been posted under the "Opinions About UPCI" topic. But is this what UPCI does?

To the best of my knowledge this is NOT normal for UPC. It sounds like exactly what you said. It would be interesting if you contacted the actual UPC organization and asked if this church is technically affiliated with them.
