20 years, 700 victims: Southern Baptist sexual abuse spreads as leaders resist reforms. 220 people, since 1998, worked or volunteered in Southern Baptist churches and were convicted of or pleaded guilty to sex crimes.

It's a shame but not surprising since Southern Baptists were late to renounce their past mistakes, in 1995, over its racist roots and apologized for its past defence of slavery, segregation, and white supremacy.
