I thought the idea of putting a sermon through an AI engine was an interesting one, so downloaded the New Year Word and created a transcript for analysis.

Before I give you the summary, let me remind you of a verse from Deuteronomy.

Quote
Deuteronomy 18
21 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

So, the New Year Word.

Quote
The New Year Word Summarised by Chat CPT
If I were to reduce the whole sermon to one underlying narrative, it would be this:

The movement has passed through a period of spiritual and relational conflict. Its leaders have been attacked and its churches have suffered criticism and division. Those who have remained loyal have demonstrated that they are truly standing in the gap. The movement has nevertheless continued to grow and experience God's presence. The previous leaders' spiritual inheritance is being carried forward, particularly through the current leadership. The new word therefore promises that the storm will subside and that the church will enter a period of calm, clarity, fruitfulness and renewed experience of God's presence.

That, to me, is the real architecture of the talk.

The New Year Word therefore promises that the storm will subside and that the church will enter a period of calm, clarity, fruitfulness and renewed experience of God's presence.

Is that what is happening? Calm and Clarity?

If you are claiming this is from God, you are simply lying. The Bible makes it abundantly clear. You are far from a period of calm. It is NOT TRUE. Those in the pews, you can't make yourself subject to this. Follow God, not someone identified, not by me but by the Bible, as a false prophet.

Dear reader, I have a question for you.

Quite a straight-forward question, but I would like you to take it seriously, so I am going to ask for a favour of sorts.

That favour is to have a pen and paper ready and to write down the answer to my question. You do not need to post the answer here or show it to anyone, you just need to write it down. You can destroy it a few minutes later if you wish.

I hope you do not feel that is an unreasonable request. As I am sure you are all aware, Jesus spoke to everyone – pharisees, women, those from the other nations and cultures, prostitutes, tax collectors and all sorts of sinners. So could you please, just for a moment, follow His example and do me the honour of listening to me and responding to what I ask? Sure I am a sinner and have done all sort of things wrong, but I don’t think it is too much to ask you to have a bit of paper and a pen ready to answer my question.

I will give you 24 hours and post my question at 6pm tomorrow evening.

said yesterday I was going to pose a question at 6pm this evening, and hoped you would do me the curtesy of having pen and paper ready to record your answer.

If you have not got that handy just now, could you perhaps find some before continuing? I don’t think it is too much of an imposition to ask you to have something ready to record your answer.

My preference would be pen and paper, but I guess you could if you like take a note in a suitable app or even write an email to yourself. All I would ask is that you record it in some way. You do not need to show it to anyone, just record it.

I would also ask that you do not share the question with others. If they want to read it, they should have pen and paper ready then come here to read it for themselves. Just common curtesy folks.

Thanks.

FYI, someone posted a comment about Struthers in another section of the message board.

I linked their post to this discussion here.

OK, here is the question. I did try to post it a little while ago, but it does not seem to have appeared. Apologies if it appears twice.

If you come across somethingt that Diana said and read something in the Bible that says something different, which one do you give authority to?

A) Diana
B) The Bible

Please write down your answer.

(Diana, if you are reading this, you can answer it as well. If you listen to a sermon you preached last week or last year, then read something in the Bible that says something different, to which do you attribute authority? Same question.)

Good question, Petitor. A proverbial no-brainer.

Corboy, thanks for the link to Kenzie, which contains interesting new material in the form of a very moving narrative. I feel sorry for the young people who had nowhere to turn from the tyranny. Will pray for your healing.

Kenzie includes this:

"All good, Godly people left to go without a second thought simply because they could think for themselves.
Noone stood up to her ...

........................

Cedars, purchase, money!
Where did 3 million go, say no more? ( We dont know either)."

Please let me address these points.

First, some did stand up to her. I, for example, did (who else though? I'd love to know). I was anointed and empowered to declare that the school was wrong. Later, I phoned her to protest that she had defamed a biblical figure in a sermon. She tried to break me there and then, but I did not yield to her wicked, self-serving pride. Subsequently, she preached against me. I shook my head openly as she rambled because she was speaking defamatory nonsense. I was then frozen out of the Glasgow and then Falkirk churches. I had served the "movement" (just a trickle now)long before she strutted onto the scene.

I do not believe for one second that she was "super-spiritual". On the contrary! It was God who strengthened me to tackle her and others in the leadership.

You quote some nice Latin, Kenzie, whoever you are. Well, here's the MacDuff clan motto: "Deus Juvat".

As for the 3 million: this was plundered by the school and the bookshop, both chronically loss-making businesses, both closed now. The church's wealth is gone. I am vindicated.

I await a written confession and apology from Alison Speirs. As do others.

I also await a public statement here from those who allegedly mismanaged and emptied the church's coffers.

You need to stop hiding and 'fess up, because we aren't going away.

Hi Kenzie/Ensemble
I’ve read your informative post on the other section of the Forum.

Please can you explain your reasoning behind including a list of health conditions and disabilities occurring in various well-known people and comparing those people with people in Struthers. Do you mean that people in SMC don’t try hard enough, don’t work nor live full lives? Or that they feign illness? On the contrary, many people in SMC especially in past years, including in the years before you were born, lived their lives by continuous striving, pushing and driving themselves in order to meet the leaders’ demands and to please them. Aswell as working full-time and, in a few cases if married, raising young children. Also unless you were a teacher, you only had two weeks off during the summer and on these two weeks, you were expected to attend Summer Camps. This lifestyle led in many cases to exhaustion, burnout and frequent succumbing to viruses. Damage occurred to people’s nervous systems from all this, I believe.

Also, I don’t agree with the statement in your post, as follows:-

“However, it is true there could be a very small number complaining endlessly that they are very ill due to, say PVFS/ M.E./ viruses and the more general psychosomatic group of perceived illness.”

Firstly, these illnesses are not psychosomatic, perceived nor made up. They are physical conditions and research on them is ongoing. I’m not sure where you got your information but it isn’t correct. I don’t know of anyone in SMC who said they were chronically ill but who wasn’t genuinely ill. Secondly, your above statement is more a Struthers or “high-control church” view of illness and suffering, ie it’s your fault. Dolores herself showed little sympathy and lack of empathy where such illnesses were concerned. I recall a young woman who was badly treated and upset by Dolores when she developed Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome whilst living at The Cedars, and Mary Black had to step in and sort things out. Not many know about that incident. The girl was upset.

Can I ask that you don’t give any further personal details about me in your posts. Yes, My identity was leaked against my wishes, and I can’t do anything about that now, but I don’t wish further details about me to be given. Thanks.

I wish you all well, Kenzie/Ensemble. I trust your recovery and healing is continuing to go well.
