Looked up a definition of the word Shikara and in northern India it has two main meanings.

In Kashmiri Persian, a shikara is a flat bottomed boat and in other contexts in India, especially the regions where Persian influenced the languages, shikar can also mean hunt and a shikara is a hunter, big game hunger, or in some contexts, a hunt-leaderor guide.

So to say you are of a lineage of hunters/big game hunters is an innovative title.

Now, another possiblity. Maybe 'Shikara' is a mis-spelling of Shankara. The Acharya Shankaras lead the monastic orders who who derived from the great Hindu philosopher and reviver of monasticism, Shankara. The successors carry names such as - Bharati, Sarasvati, Sagara, Tirtha, Puri, Asrama, Giri, Parvata, Aranya and Vana.

*This particular strand of Indian religion, philosophy and monasticism is ancient and very well documented, and has an extensive literature, primary texts and language being in Sanskrit though now many core texts are available in competant translation into Western languages.

The lineages of the Shankaras in India are traceable and a monastic will know and be able to tell the lineage of his guru for this locates him within his community--important as many monastics wander throughout India.
