Dave Lakhani advertises himself as an Applied Propagandist, and at least that part of it is accurate, as there is ample evidence seen in these threads.
Its essential to remember, there is a huge difference between what a professional persuader SAYS they are "teaching" and what they are REALLY doing to people without their conscious awareness. Without exception, for someone in Dave Lakhani's business, what they SAY they are "teaching" is the misdirection, its merely the "content".
One must always carefully look at the meta-processes.
When the magician tells you to look at his right hand, that is the time to look at the left hand. That is not conjecture, that is a fact of this kind of persuasion.

Persuasion Engineering and "dimwits" [

ANONYMITY:
The stuff being thrown around about anonymity, is another distraction.
In this case, there is no real difference, because the "claims" being made by Dave Lakhani have not been verified, and many of them have been easily falsified.
When someone is doing that much smoke-blowing and tap-dancing, then every single claim they make has to be verified by independent sources.
For example, there is no evidence that Dave Lakhani has done the NLP training he claims to have done. (never mind the others claims being made as well). Its up to him to prove the claims he is making, by posting the details of who specifically allegedly certified him in NLP, and the alleged connections with Richard Bandler. Notice how that pointed question was carefully and totally avoided, by creating more smoke and distraction.
There are many people who claim to be NLP Master Practitioners, and some of them are not. If someone makes a claim in their advertising, they must provide proof for their claims.
TORRENTS:
As far as the torrents, that again is more deliberate distraction, to distract from the real issues. He says someone suggested that someone put his material up on a torrent site? And then some torrents appeared? That is totally false. Its propaganda. Who said that? Where is the post? No one ever said that.
Regarding when the torrents went up, anyone can see they appear to have been up for years... by searching for:
torrent "Dave Lakhani"
If someone has a problem with a torrent, that needs to be addressed with the torrent sites.
It another attempt at deliberate propaganda, to try to misdirect from the real questions being raised. Again, hopefully most people will be able to easily see the facts on that one.
Dave Lakhani is certainly not less harmful than his colleagues. If anything, he is even less recommended, and should be avoided even more, as he is somewhat more skilled in certain areas, but less aware in other areas, like the dangerous CAN Scientology blunder.
He makes another "mistake" saying Lipton, and not Lifton. He's most likely never even heard of Lifton. If you search Google for this, no articles or comments come up about Lifton by Lakhani.
"Dave Lakhani" Lifton
The comment he made to Buffman, about calling him up on the phone, and recording the call and not "hypnotizing" him, and not "controlling his mind"... Truly, that is more really really vile and lame material from Lakhani. He knows that is not how it works, and he used the exact technique that was pointed out here.

The outrageous levels of manipulation at the Kevin Hogan www.kevinhogan.com
website advertising for their own LGAT type seminar, is extremely bad.
Trying to make people be "bound to secrecy" due to alleged "trade secrets"? One assumes they are going to force seminar customers to sign contracts? Where are those contracts so they can be looked at carefully?

And trying to make people believe the material can't be put into books and DVD's.
Its just a big scamola. All they are trying to do is use every technique in the book, to try and get people to attend the expensive live LGAT style seminars, so they can upsell them to more products in person, and get them to sign coaching contracts, and use the most powerful techniques of group persuasion and covert hypnosis on them.
That kind of seminar is the WORST place to study persuasion techniques, as they are bombarding you with misinformation, misdirection and disinformation, to upsell you to all of their other products.
When that is done deceptively to an audience who has no idea of what is being done to them, that is literally a form of mind-rape.
This stuff about "ethics" and "intent" is really meaningless.
To use an extreme example, terrorists who kill civillians, literally believe they are perfectly "ethical" in what they are doing, and that their "intent" is literally God's will, and that they go straight to Heaven for murdering people.
So this stuff about "good intent" is frankly more persuasion itself.
They are trying to convince you they have your best interests in their "intent", to try and make you "trust" them, in order to increase their own sales.
Any professional salesperson who is screaming..."TRUST ME", is to be completely avoided.
