Also, anyone else use this strange mumbling that we should be on the lookout for?

By the way, in terms of the advanced hypnosis, ask Stever Robbins about it, he knows all about it. That's right Stever, he knows what its all about, Stever knows EXACTLY what Byron Katie does, he knows precisely what James Ray does, and all the rest of them.
All they think about is their own payday, and too bad for the collateral damage, like peoples minds getting crushed.

Also, the Sleight-of-Mouth methods from NLP, are more advanced techniques which explain it.

The Salty Droid has more information about Colleen Conaway, as the mainstream media has finally picked up a little bit on Colleen, which actually started in this very thread.

Colleen Marian Conaway (1963 - 2009)

What James Arthur Ray did to Colleen Conaway is truly horrendous.
He and his "team" literally perpetrated the most evil of human acts that day.
Are they going to get away with it?

Another James Ray "staffer" witnessed the so-called "suicide".
Greg Hartle :: Senior James Ray International staffer
QOTE: "July 25th on Twitter :: Just witnessed a woman jump several stories down onto pure concrete. I gotta say it was disturbing. I’m sending her my love right now."
(he has since hidden his tweets)

James Ray has used his advanced and terribly powerful techniques to smash many people minds wide open.
James Ray learned those techniques the same place many others learned them.
They just don't care what happens to the soccer moms who get their lives destroyed, all they think about is how much money they can make in a weekend.

It looks like Colleen Conaway's story is going to hit more news sites.

AFGrant makes a few comments at Salty Droid, but he is completely missing the point, either through lack of knowledge, or on purpose.
Its about powerful group manipulation and persuasion, where people are engineered into behaviors using extremely advanced techniques. It hits some people much harder than others.

There is no question that James Ray and his people covered-up the death of Colleen Conaway during their seminar.
What happens with that is up to the authorities. Hopefully the entire episode is being carefully reviewed.

Some media is now reporting about Colleen Conaway, over 2 months after the story came out in this thread.
October 14, 2009 Colleen Conaway [forum.culteducation.com]

It looks like the local San Diego authorities need to have national media pressure before they will properly investigate what really happened to Colleen Conaway.

There are so many obvious lies by those at that seminar who even say they saw it happen, or were told about it, and did not tell anyone...why not start investigating there?
If the sweat lodge "only" had one death, that would have been covered-up too. Does it take multiple deaths before its worth investigating?

A human being dies while actually attending a seminar, DURING a seminar, and nothing happens?
How can someone die during a seminar, with all of the obvious lies surrounding the event, and nothing happens?
Is Arizona a different country than San Diego?

Previous James Ray Event Turned Deadly
Before the deadly Arizona sweat lodge incident, Colleen Conaway jumped to her death from the third floor of a mall in San Diego during another event Ray held at which he had his followers dress as homeless people.
Conaway's sister, Lynn Graham, said Conaway had no history of psychological problems.

"We would have never, ever thought this would have happened to her from attending a motivational speaker or a self-help guru. … It makes no sense to us," Graham said.
...Neither Ray nor his staff announced Conaway's death to the other attendees of the conference; everyone attended a black tie party the following night.

Family Blames Woman's Death On Self-Help Guru
[www.10news.com]
POSTED: 7:00 pm PST December 9, 2009
UPDATED: 4:43 pm PST December 10, 2009

SAN DIEGO -- Family members blame the death of a woman during a Horton Plaza seminar on the event's sponsor, self-help guru James Arthur Ray.

Members of Minnesotan Colleen Conaway's family said they would like the San Diego Police Department to re-open its investigation of Conaway's death in late July.

During the "Creating Absolute Wealth" seminar, the family said Conaway and others were placed downtown and told to pretend to be homeless for a self-sufficiency exercise. Conaway then jumped from the third floor of Horton Plaza to her death, according to authorities.

Loved ones said she did not suffer from depression and just lost 90 pounds in two years. Family members said Conaway was planning to write a recipe book and start a business.

The family wants to know what role Ray's event may have played in her death. Conaway's sister, Lynn Graham said, "It could have been brainwashing. He's been known for heavy-handed tactics. She went from someone excited about life to someone who was completely alone in a span of two days. You can't put people in such an emotional state and then just dump them."

Less than three months later, 3 people died in a sweat lodge event in Arizona held by Ray.

One detail the family is concerned about is that the event bus picked up everybody, but left without Conaway. It would be seven hours before Ray's group reported her missing.

Ray's group issued the following statement: "There is no evidence whatsoever that Mr. Ray or James Ray International contributed to or could have prevented Ms. Conaway's tragic suicide."

San Diego police said the case remains closed unless there is new evidence.

A woman died at Ray event prior to Sedona sweat-lodge incident
[www.azfamily.com]
PHOENIX -- Self-help guru James Arthur Ray is making headlines once again.

He's the man at the center of the Sedona sweat-lodge death investigation.

It's being reported that a woman died at a Ray event months before the Sedona incident.

The woman, Colleen Conaway, killed herself during a retreat in San Diego back in July.

But Ray didn't tell the other participants and he even attended a black-tie event after learning about her death.

Conaway's family says there's no explanation for her death. There were no drugs or alcohol in her system.

Greg Hartle is in this up to his neck.

How far do they have to go before something is done about it?
How many "deaths" at seminars does it take?
The same people are witnessing and tweeting about the death of Colleen Conaway during a James Ray seminar, and the same people are involved at the James Ray sweat-lodge deaths?

What does it take? How many deaths does it take?
How can one expect the authorities to go after scam-artists, when even when a person DIES DURING A JAMES RAY SEMINAR IN SAN DIEGO, nothing is done about it?
Its an outrage, and it seems the only way anything will be done about it, is very loud national media attention about properly investigating the death of Colleen Conaway during the James Ray seminar in San Diego.

Re: James Arthur Ray - mumbling, and indirect unconscious Trance

As shown in this thread months ago, the aftermath of the death of Colleen Conaway was an organized cover-up involving a number of people. A number of people told them about the death, and they just engineered a "story" to try and cover their own asses, and keep themselves out of it.

Even a non-professional can see that quite easily.
So one has to wonder what is going on with the professional investigators?

What is the difference from Sedona, where people died during a James Ray seminar?
Colleen Conaway also died during a James Ray seminar in San Diego.

Its beyond an outrage.
Will the heat from what happens in Arizona will carry over into San Diego California?
Or are people allowed to die during seminars in California?

Also, I just watched the recent Nightline on James Ray, available here:
[abcnews.go.com]

James Ray told staffers re: Colleen Conaway "She's fine, we've found her, she decided not to return to the event" after she suicided and they found that she was in the morgue, and encouraged them to repeat this lie.

Just wanted to add this information to the earlier comments about Ray "mumbling and ranting" --

This article includes reports that during the sweat lodge, "Ray stood by the only entrance, alternately speaking in tongues and encouraging participants to persevere as some of them vomited and fainted."

You better believe that mumbling is a hypnotic technique, its one of the main ones in current advanced hypnosis and Trance work.
Its a perversion of advanced Ericksonian hypnosis.

What James Ray is doing, is at the end of a very long day, he pushes people into exhaustion, where their defenses are the lowest.
He then slowly paces and leads them into "unconscious" work, where he deliberately goes sub-vocal, and mixes in Suggestions with nonsense, confusion, and precise instruction.
James Ray is pushing people into Trance states, and then controlling those states of mind.

James Ray then inserts his Suggestions, deliberately done in a vague, confusing, and sub-vocal mumbling manner, to try and communicate directly with the unconscious.....This is mental and emotional abuse of the highest order.

This is all very disturbing. Are these guru-cons in some kind of competition to prove to each other that they can control people to the point of death?

If a death occurred during a lengthy Sunday service, wouldn't the media be all over the responsible preacher? If a personal trainer drove a step-aerobics class to the point of killing a person, wouldn't the gym be shut down while the community called for special licensing guidelines?

Are there any statistics on these types of incidents over the past ten or twenty years?

If not, how could they be gathered?

Thanks for the link, Yakaru. I was wondering if Ray was speaking in tongues in any part of this.

I think we should consider guys like Ray to be televangelists who've taken their ministry of selfish gain into the woods. Same obnoxious sleaze-bag sales, slightly different appearance (and increased danger).

There is a new long article here about Colleen Conaway.

Family questions mysterious suicide at seminar last July
Park Rapids Enterprise - Sarah Smith - ýDec 12, 2009ý
[www.parkrapidsenterprise.com]

There is some very disappointing information in that article about the investigation into her death. They talk about her so-called voluntarily running up her credit cards to pay for tens of thousands of dollars of James Ray materials, many which were not even opened yet.
That is not even the real issue. Those who study this, knows guys like James Ray do this to many people, they pump them up, and rip them off, and coerce them with high pressure tactics to sign up for expensive seminars, one seminar leads to the next.

What is the issue?
Another human being DIED DURING A JAMES RAY SEMINAR months before Sedona.
She didn't die while in San Diego at his seminar, she died DURING the seminar in the mall. James Ray was on the same bus as Colleen, according to reports.

So in San Diego, a person can run a seminar, where someone dies during a seminar exercise during the actual seminar, and nothing happens?
What is the difference with Sedona, where people died during a James Ray seminar too?

What about all of the lies told about Colleen after she died, as seen below?

What about the gross negligence when people are dying DURING a seminar?
People died during a James Ray seminar in Arizona, and that is being investigated.

Why can a person die during a seminar in San Diego, and nothing happens?
If a person had died during a seminar exercise in a hotel ballroom in San Diego, they would also not investigate and let them walk away?
What's the difference? The seminar was occuring INSIDE THE HORTON MALL, just like the other seminar was occuring in the sweat-lodge in Arizona.

One has to wonder if the San Diego and national media are going to ask some proper questions about this.
A human being died DURING A SEMINAR.
How can they get away with it?

'Is this a mass suicide?' Ex-James Ray employee speaks out on Sedona sweat lodge deaths
12/09/2009 Tim Steller
...
"Conaway killed herself by jumping from a third-story balcony at a San Diego mall while participating in an exercise of pretending to be homeless. This is the same exercise that Tucsonan Alexcis Reynolds described participating in at a Ray seminar in San Diego.

When Martin brought up the missing woman to Ray herself, at the seminar the next day, he said “We have found her, she is fine, and she’s decided not to return to the event,” Martin said. The words sound chilling when you consider the fact, reported by this blogger, that Ray employees called Conaway’s cell phone while she was missing, hours after they had taken her cell phone from her as part of the exercise, and left messages asking where she was. Why? Who knows."
