Very disappointed in Judge Darrow.
2 years concurrent. That means 2 years in jail, right?

3 people dead, 2 years in jail.
A life is worth 8 months in jail?
Or less, with parole?

This is just enough time for James Ray to organize his new internet businesses.

But its better than getting off with nothing.

These LGAT Gurus can have multiple people DIE at their reckless seminars as people get scammed, and get a pathetic slap on the wrist.

wait a sec, if Ray gets credit for time served in custody, he could get out right away. Its been a couple years already.

Hopefully the prosecution will appeal.

Apparently Judge Darrow said he thinks James Ray poses no future danger!
It depends what you mean by 'danger' but that is a beyond absurd statement.
There are people who have gotten 10 years for financial fraud, and obstruction of justice.

Yet 3 people are dead in this case, and Ray gets 2 years.
Colleen Conaway was not part of the case.

Judge Darrow has been way too soft on this case.
Hopefully the prosecutors can do an appeal.

Otherwise James Ray will be out very soon, and will start right back up...today.
Of course Ray is not going to do any more human ovens, but he doesn't need to.
He'll just go right back to the more standard LGAT scamming methods.

this is why public education is essential. In fact, no one is looking out for the public in these LGAT scams. The 'media' doesn't care anymore, prosecutors usually are too busy, and many of these Judges are soft on this area.

No one is protecting the public from these LGAT seminar scammers.

yikes, some folks at the Droid seem to think James Ray LGAT seminar career is over?
[saltydroid.info]

Not a chance.
James Ray will instantly restart his same career, doing the exact same persuasion processes.
Targeting those who are vulnerable, with a complete Spin of what happened, claiming it was all an accident, when in fact it was not.

Yes, the biggest limelight for James Ray will be reduced. But he will still be able to target those who are vulnerable, and continue what he was doing.

Quote of James Ray:
"I didn't know, I didn't know that anyone was dying or in distress. I wish to God I would have. I would have stopped immediately."

This is obviously a false statement being made to the court, of course he knew people were in distress or dying, and he refused to stop.
Very unfortunate ruling, but at least James Ray didn't get totally off on a technicality...yet.
His attorney's are going to appeal, so its not over yet.

3 people die, and Colleen Conaway died as well, and James Ray gets a slap on the wrist.

The cult leader Warren Jeffs got life in jail for sexual assault of children. [en.wikipedia.org]

The legal system is not set-up to deal with these types of dangerous advanced manipulative persuaders, who's goal is to engineer the appearance of "free choice" in their victims.

He is supposed to serve a minimum of 85% of his sentence, so with time served in custody ( those few weeks after his arrest) should be in poky for about 600 days, by my reckoning.

I don't know whether his freedom on bail prior to trial gets deducted ??

Right, still 600 days is not enough.
But of course, its better than him getting off on a technicality.

Also, someone else said, he might try to get moved to California, where the jails are too full.

But regardless, the sentence is way too low.
But better than some bogus technicality of course.

At least its a matter of public record.

Unless the little darling tries to get his name changed.

Watch his supporters play the minimization game on this one.

And there may be some kind of weird ass neurological rush in defending a scoundrel.

If you want the psychology get and read People Farm by Steve Susoyev.

When Susoyev's cult leader decided to flee the US to avoid prosecution, Susoyev was still in his thrall. He followed his leader's orders and drove the guy and his wife to the airport, and then followed additional orders to get the guy fake ID and wired him money.

And..his cult leader's wife was still with him, and followed him into hiding despite the guy having inflicted gang rape on her to punish her for humiliating him.

Get and read People Farm by Steve Susoyev. He describes what it was like to do all this and...to be the one to go and do the first interview with the lawyer who was willing to take the case.

If anyone missed it, a must read is the lawsuit from Colleen Conaway's family against James Ray and his employees who were involved in her death.
The pdf document is here. [www.courthousenews.com]

According to that statement, Colleen was ridiculed by Ray and/or his minions, for a business idea she had.
She also refused to dress as a homeless person, and was flamed, and attacked for that as well.

The statement goes into detail about the sleep deprivation, manipulations, and the cover-up after Colleen died.
Apparently, the James Ray gang even entered Colleen's hotel room and removed materials when they knew she was dead.

When is that not obstruction of justice?

You can see what happened. Colleen was just a regular person, who didn't know anything about all these powerful "persuasion techniques" James Ray was using on her.
They talk about the constant HARD SELL TECHNIQUES used.
So she got swept up in it, and went to California, excited to see the ocean..
These LGAT seminars often put people into somewhat of a manic state, as that is when you spend money you don't have. they engineer mania into people.

Then because she refused to follow orders on the command of James Ray, Ray and his minions singled her out for flaming, humiliation, threats, accusations, and other abuses according to the statement.
It must have been a nightmare for her, to have such high-hopes engineered by the LGAT seminar, and then to have James Ray and his minions single her out for abuse.

So she seems to have have had a breakdown from the LGAT seminar.
There are MANY cases of people slipping into a psychosis at these seminars, due to the extreme stressors.

Then the James Ray gang covered it up, and engineered their charade.

That pdf is must reading for anyone interested in these LGAT seminar systems.
This happens constantly, with regular people getting sucked in, spending everything they don't have.
The LGAT Gurus know exactly what happens to those people, and they literally do not care one iota.
