Thanks, Yakarul for your link [live.cnn.com]

I will check it tomorrow and watch the fireworks. (I don't have Court TV on my cable. Is Court TV even covering this?)

It seems that the Defence has already 'opened the door' --- so allowing evidence of prior acts to be heard:

'State gains traction in evidentiary hearing

CAMP VERDE - Even before defense attorney Luis Li had finished his opening statements on Tuesday, Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk had found an opening with which to successfully gain ground on what evidence the state can introduce in the manslaughter trial of James Ray.

The state has long wished to introduce evidence pertaining to prior sweat lodge ceremonies that Ray conducted at Angel Valley. Until now, Judge Warren Darrow has disallowed that evidence, citing it as prejudicial and largely without foundation because many of the potential witnesses lack proper standing as to education or experience.

Li's opening statement was interrupted at the close of business Tuesday, but during it he offered photographs of sweat lodges that, according to Polk, were not taken at the October 2009 Spiritual Warrior retreat.

Saying that Li "opened the door" by using the photos, Polk argued that past sweat lodges should be eligible for discussion. She cited a "very thorough, very lengthy investigation" into those activities which, she said, "revealed a pattern" crucial to the state's contention that Ray knowingly disregarded the danger of his ever-hotter sweat lodge ceremonies.

According to Polk, Ray began conducting annual sweats in 2003 at Angel Valley. Each time, she said, he would make them hotter.

In 2005, she said, people got sick after the ceremony. At that point, Polk said, he cooled them down for a couple of years until 2007, when he again began to "ratchet up the heat."

Polk alluded to a 2008 incident in which one participant was hurt, and of course to 2009, when three people died.

The pattern of increasing heat, she said, was critical to the state's decision to charge Ray with manslaughter. In fact, she said it was "ultimately why Mr. Ray was charged."

Judge Warren Darrow agreed, despite Li's argument that allowing the evidence would lead to a "mini-trial within the trial" about the qualifications of the witnesses the state might call. He did note, however, that the state would be required to provide adequate foundation for the relevance of the testimony to the case at hand and that witnesses must testify only to what they saw without additional speculation.

Li appeared content with the ruling, noting that "more than 200 people had attended the prior sweat lodges" with just one minor injury. He added that the man injured actually returned to the seminar after receiving first aid.'

The Organophosphates Are Innocent!

Now the Defence is claiming that it was the carbon monoxide wot dunnit--still nothing to do with James Arthur Ray who cannot be held responsible for anything except collecting the $$$$ to fund his own grandiosity:

'why can’t i be a weenie?

And it’s such a great metaphor. You know? If you’ve been on this journey with me for any amount of time you there’s all kinds of physical metaphors. And there’s probably nothing greater than the lodge … my lodge. Because at some point in time you just have to let go and say, “if I’m going to die it’s okay. Because I don’t ever die … not really. My body dies, I don’t die. You most likely will feel like your skin is going to fall off of your body. It’s hot … hellacious hot.

And even though I’m leading the lodge, I guarantee you, every single year I approach the lodge with great respect. I’ve been anticipating it all day long, because by about the second or third round I’m thinking, “why the hell am I me?” {lols} Why couldn’t I just do a weenie ass lodge like someone else does? And the reason is because … when you emerge … you will be a different person. Because when you’ve faced your own death, you’ve stared it in the eyes and you’ve overcome it, then life’s never the same … it’s really just not. It’s just not.'

Well, it certainly isn't the same for those who died by trusting that this salesman knew what he was talking about.

Its right there. He is pre-planning people to face their own death, to stare it in the eyes, and telling them if they die, its ok, cuz there is no death.
How can that even be manslaughter, with pre-planning?

As was said by many others, this has nothing to do with a "sweatlodge". This thing was constructed as a human OVEN, to take humans to the edge of death and to death, on purpose, with pre-planning.
Anyone can see right there, that DEATH was at the core of this human oven, that was its point.

And if carbon monoxide was part of it, then where are the carbon monoxide detectors in the structure? Every sane adult knows you never have any kind of fire/BBQ in a closed structure, unless you want to die from carbon monoxide poisoning.
But one assumes the coroner would answer that.

Its all right there...."MY LODGE". That is what he called it.
And it was designed to be so hot as to take people to the edge of death, and to death.
Colleen Conaway had died just before at a previous seminar, so death, people dying at the seminars, was seemingly his next step.

After all, he probably thought he could get away with it, as people die when climbing Mount Everest all the time. So why can't they die while attending his seminars?
This trial will determine if indeed people can die, from a pre-planned human oven death-experience, at a LGAT seminar, and whether the guy who planned it, can get away with it.

Death rays sickening (stolen from others) graphic on the Droid [saltydroid.info]
Its vile, but it shows the mentality of these guys.
GOD - MONEY - SEX = ONE, in their perverse minds.

That is actually the recipe for most cultic leaders...they want to be a God over others, and take all your money, and have sex with their chosen followers. Its the exact same pattern almost every time.
They are saying they are "God" and that their Greed is good, so they can do whatever they want to you.

and the lawyers for all the big LGAT Gurus are watching this trial, every step of it.
As there are masses of injuries from many other LGAT seminars, burns, cuts, broken bones, psychosis, mental breakdowns, and if Ray is convicted, these other LGAT Gurus could be next.

And there have been many many other deaths as well, in terms of people becoming unstabilized from the intense LGAT seminar, and when they start to fall apart or go into psychosis, the LGAT seminar Guru's and his/her minions, just kick the person out of the seminar into the streets. They don't want to be held responsible. They don't want a 911 record if they can avoid it. They just escort the person to the door, and force them to leave.
And time and time again, you hear the reports of those people committing suicide, as they are just thrown out of the seminar. Meanwhile, its the techniques of the LGAT seminar itself, the high-pressure STRESS environment, which is clearly triggering the psychosis in some people.

This is the dirty secret of the LGAT seminar business.
The LGAT seminar Gurus have their lawyers fight the victims and their families for years, and only when they won't give up, they pay them off with a token, and sign them to a total gag-order, so no one hears about it.

Perhaps this case will start a pattern of other prosecutors going after these LGAT seminar Guru's when there are deaths and serious injuries at their seminars.

You can be certain, the waivers at every LGAT seminar in the USA just got 10 pages longer after this.
The LGAT Gurus are going to come up with more strategies to try to insulate themselves from what happens to the victims at their seminars.

That pic of Ray (god money sex) with Death Ray snapped at the moment after he's drawn the circles showing "one" and hitches up his pants in that manly way.

I read the book by the follower mentioned in the article Sparky linked to - Tragedy in Sedona, by Connie Joy. It's rather laden with new age ideology, but she's nailed Ray with quite chilling accuracy and dealt with the whole thing honestly and without new age explanations for it all. She did 2008 spiritual warrior event and left the sweat lodge after the first round. She wrote she regularly goes into a sauna at 170 degrees, and Ray's sweat lodge was way hotter.

"Cosmic" Connie reviewed it - [cosmicconnie.blogspot.com]

You nailed it..That is exactly what Ray was doing.. He was taking them to the edge of death and Death was a "metaphor" for him that whole week leading up the the Sweat "Lodge".. Just hearing about all those people he had there lying "Dead" for HOURS on the cold hard floor not moving a muscle in his "Samarai" game gave me the creeps..
