Nothing new, but a good overview of the life and death of the man worshipped by Scientologists.

Osho on Scientology - It is fantastic…I mean bullshit, utter bullshit! Be aware of such stupid things. They move in the world in the name of science because science has credit, so any kind of stupidity can pretend to be scientific. And people are very much impressed by words: scientology.

Two reporters at the St. Petersburg Times lifted up some rocks and found theplace crawling with the kind of nastiness one would expect from the Churchof Scientology...

Marty Rathbun and Mike Rinder, the highest-ranking executives to leave the [Church of Scientology], are speaking out for the first time. Two other former executives who defected also agreed to interviews with the St. Petersburg Times: De Vocht, who for years oversaw the church’s spiritual headquarters in Clearwater, and Amy Scobee, who helped create Scientology’s celebrity network, which caters to the likes of John Travolta and Tom Cruise. One by one, the four defectors walked away from the only life they knew. That Rathbun and Rinder are speaking out is a stunning reversal because theywere among Miscavige’s closest associates, Haldeman and Ehrlichman to his Nixon.

Standard warning: it is impossible to have interfaith relations with Scientologists, for the same reason you don't have interfaith relations with members of the mafia.

Has Scientology ever killed someone? Maybe. The scandal also has driven Miscavige completely insane.

The absurdity of Scientology goes beyond the pale. I particularly liked the episode on South Park about Scientology. As far as actually killing people goes...they don't do the deed directly, but rather tend to make the conditions favorable to cause death. If they can do all that to you for criticizing them, why is there no recourse with the courts against them. I suppose one or two big law suits against them will put an abrupt end to that practice. If they've got the ultimate answer to life and to spiritual perfection, why waste time attacking people who differ with them? I don't get it.
