Every Friday night, Jeff Seidel goes to the Western Wall to set people up for a Sabbath meal with an orthodox host so the people can get a taste of an "authentic" Sabbath experience.
It's actually somewhat of a "mystical" experience as he tries to figure out which guest should go with with host. He actually rotates around, gyrates etc.
And these hosts, of course, think they're doing you the supreme favor by giving you this "experience". As opposed to a Conservative, Reform etc Sabbath. Or mowing the lawn on Saturday if you need to get that done instead.
I was partnered off to a Rhiziner Chasid for a few weeks. One week, he told me, "you need to work on your appearance". I barely had enough momey for food let alone better clothing. And I always went in good clothes.
One week, finally, my luck ran out and Mr. Seidel didn't set me up with anyone at all. I think I'm not the only one who's luck will run out if you put yourself in these people's hands.
