maybe the promoters were afraid they were not going to get enough donations to cover the cost of the room rental, so they moved to a ticket system?
Or is could just be Scarcity Marketing.
Or maybe BK raised her price.
Often the local promoters have to pay the speaker cash in advance, and hope they make their money back.
Byron Katie wants to target people in the "alternative health" area, as that is where she recruits her "facilitators", who pay her a fortune to go to all of her Schools.
They then go viral, and spread the work, in their alternative health businesses.
And charge $100 an hr for it.
Every LGAT has "free" intro nights, or cheap tickets.
Just like every fisherman puts free worms on his fishing hook.

NIWH grade Gina Lake is offering a series of courses on quieting the mind, with material derived from Tolle and Katie. NIWH claims to be a science- and evidence-based school teaching a whole person approach to health. Enrollees must be some kind of certified/licensed/degreed health professional in order to gain admission.
