Has anyone ever read this book? What are your thoughts on it? I've had many arguments with friends about this book. If the thoughts on it are correct or not. If the simplicity it carries is what converts people.

I'm probably posting this is the wrong forum, but I thought it would go good here since there's a following this book has created. I've seen it break up a congregation. It's pretty funny and sad at the same time.

Just how easy is it to break a part a group?

but its been around for years.

My hunch is that any book, no matter how good it is, can be used for dysfunctional purposes. The Bible has empowered saints and also empowered Jim Jones.

Its the intentions of the persons using a book, their emotional needs, how they create groups and the kinds of people they prefer to recruit to a group - and how they teach a group to respond to dissent--its the social process that makes or breaks up a congregation, not so much its reading matter.

Hmm. It's very difficult to find the book nowadays.

But I agree, it's the approach taken and the gullibility of people approached.

One must be so manipulative and very messed up to do this.
