To whom it may concern: I personally have direct experience with Krishna West and was present when HD Goswami spoke at rural ISKCON temple (I'll decline to say which one) last winter. What he had to say really caused quite a stir that Sunday, and some people were actually to leave for being disruptive during his talk. All he really said was that it's possible to be Krsna conscious without having to turn into a Bengali Indian, adopting all these ethnic customs, modes of dress, forms of cuisine, and etc. He also said that it's possible to become Krsna conscious without all of the cultish trappings of institutional, mainstream ISKCON. That really upset some of the devotees, that kind of talk.

To say that KW is a controversial ISKCON project is an understatement. Some of the hard-line ISKCON devotees really hate what KW stands for and see it as a deviant organization. But it's NOT a "new sect."

Cult Busted: Gabbard Financier Charged with Killing, Injuring Divers with Speedboat
By Andrew Walden @ 4:49 AM :: 28828 Views :: Law Enforcement, Politicians, Religion
by Andrew Walden

An alleged member of Tulsi Gabbard’s Hare Krishna cult has been charged for running over and killing a diver in Kailua Bay and injuring another diver with a speedboat.

HNN February 4, 2016 reports:

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources has filed a criminal complaint against the driver of the boat that killed a Kailua diver last month.

Forty-one year-old Sai Hansen of Kailua was cited today for operating a motor vessel without a license. If convicted, he faces up to a year in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Hansen was the driver of the 24-foot zodiac that struck and killed 59-year-old Sri Shim on Jan. 9. His hanai son Trey Albrecht was also hit and suffered severe cuts to his arm.

“There's been numerous complaints about this orange zodiac speeding around the bay, up and down Lanikai and he's been a real hazard to swimmers,” said Brian Amona, a longtime friend of the Shim family….

Friends and family of the victim wonder why it took nearly a month for this criminal complaint to be filed. …

Hansen will make his initial appearance at Kaneohe District Court on Feb. 16….

Sai Hansen has repeatedly been identified in published reports as an alleged member of the so-called ‘Science of Identity’ cult controlled by aging red diaper baby Chris Butler. Leading cult members include US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and her father State Senator Mike Gabbard.

The Gabbards’ anti-GMO activism serves to drive consumers to spend money at so-called natural stores such as the ‘Down to Earth’ chain which is allegedly owned and operated by cult members.

Gabbard’s repeated challenges to President Barack Obama’s handling of Middle-Eastern affairs are oriented to support the foreign policy of India. After Gabbard’s 2014 trip to New Delhi, Butler senses he might obtain the long elusive recognition from mainstream Hinduism by directing Tulsi to kiss up to the Hindu nationalist government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Earlier cult activities in Central Asia include running billions of dollars of drugs from Afghanistan to the US West coast in partnership with the Taliban.

According to media reports, Kailua Bay users have complained about cult members speeding powerboats in areas thick with swimmers, surfers and divers.

Ian Lind February 1, 2016 explains:

A series of anonymous but detailed online articles have linked the alleged driver and the owner of a zodiac involved in a fatal boating incident in Kailua last month to a cult with numerous ties to Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard….

Hawaii News Now reported last month that the alleged driver of the zodiac was well known for operating the craft dangerously in waters off Kailua and Lanikai (“Boat operator in fatal Kailua boating accident known for speeding“).

Using the television station’s video of the boat apparently involved in the fatal incident, an online report identified the boat’s owner and driver as members of the Butler cult, and alleges Gabbard is a part of the cult’s inner circle.

An owner of another of the zodiacs associated with the Butler cult is named in one of the accounts as Nimai Titcomb, reportedly a nephew of President Obama’s high school friend and golfing buddy, Bobby Titcomb.

Here is a video screen-cap of cult members unsafely piloting a similar boat at busy Lanikai Beach—courtesy of anti-cult site, ‘Flashlight on Roaches’ which includes the following information: [content now removed}

Sai Hansen was a big contributor to Tulsi Gabbard ($5,000) plus another $7,500 to two candidates unfamiliar to most people in Kailua, Patrick Murphy of Florida and Stacy Lawson of California. Sai has no known source of income, so what is the source of these political funds? Perhaps Hawaii Political expert Bart Dame can explain the curious funding.

“…The Hansens: Michelle and Sai Hansen, who share an address in (yes) Kailua, zip code 96734, gave an additional $10,000, with each one maxing out. Who are they? Well, you can find a blog about a golf tournament between Sai Hansen, Mike Gabbard, and Eddie Tamayo. More importantly, Sai Hansen seems to work for the Ninjai Gang, some kind of anime–which is managed by the ubiquitous Mark Fergusson, also of Healthy’s, Down to Earth, etc. I seriously doubt that’s a coincidence…” From DailyKos – What is the matter with Kailua?

“…Sai and his wife came from Australia on Work visas and are now US citizens. Sai and Michelle Hansen contributed over $40,000 dollars to various political campaigns and maxed out their contribution to Tulsi Gabbard in 2011- 8000 dollars. They live hand to mouth and were not able to afford the money to take care of their injured cats initial vet bill. Only a $500.00 bill…”

When Mayor Billy Kenoi—a politician whose well-known gubernatorial aspirations were rendered out-of-synch by the defeat of Abercrombie--became too popular, a small portion of his corrupt doings were suddenly exposed and he was quickly eliminated as a political threat.

Polls show Tulsi Gabbard is the most popular politician in the state. Her recent challenge to the Governor’s handling of the Dengue crisis indicates her Gubernatorial ambitions may not wait until 2022.

Will the old boys now direct their media to do a Kenoi-style take down of Gabbard?

Tick-tock.

Hawaii
Civil Beat Poll: Tulsi Gabbard’s Surprising Plunge In Hawaii
83

Statewide, Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono are viewed more favorably than Gabbard while Colleen Hanabusa’s numbers are slightly lower.

By Kirstin Downey / June 5, 2017

Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard’s star has been rising on the mainland, where she is popping up on lists of possible presidential contenders in 2020. But her popularity has fallen here at home.

Two years ago, 64 percent of statewide respondents to a Honolulu Civil Beat poll approved of Gabbard’s performance. A similar poll conducted last month found that her job approval rating had dropped to about 50 percent, after she drew criticism for meeting with Donald Trump before his inauguration and for visiting Syria surreptitiously.

She was viewed negatively by 29 percent of poll respondents, while 21 percent were unsure.

And in a finding that sets her far apart from the other members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation, Gabbard had almost the same statewide approval rating from Republicans (48 percent) as from Democrats (49 percent).

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard has become a prominent politician nationally, but back home in the islands, her support is shrinking.
Cory Lum/Civil Beat
Gabbard’s approval rating was higher (58 percent) in her 2nd Congressional District, which includes rural Oahu and all of the neighbor islands. But even there it declined from a 67 percent approval rating in the 2015 poll.

“Tulsi’s support has dropped mostly in CD1,” said Matt Fitch, executive director of Merriman River Group, which conducted The Civil Beat poll. “She is much more popular in CD2, which is her home district. She has taken some more controversial stands in the last year or so. It’s not surprising this has sharpened the focus on her.”

Greg Tupper is one of those CD1 poll respondents who doesn’t like what he’s been seeing from Gabbard.

“She’s good, she’s eloquent, she’s many things,” said Tupper, a civilian employee of the Defense Department who lives in Honolulu. “But stepping outside of representing her people is a little weird … She’s reaching, but she’s reaching too soon.”

The decline in Gabbard’s favorability ratings brings her back in line with other members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation. About 55 percent of respondents gave Sen. Brian Schatz a positive rating, compared with 53 percent for Sen. Mazie Hirono and 48 percent for Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, whose 1st Congressional District includes urban Honolulu.

“Anything they could do to slow the Trump train wreck would be welcome,” said poll respondent Mark Stitham, a doctor who lives in Kailua, in an interview with Civil Beat.

The poll was conducted May 18-24 and queried 956 registered voters statewide. The survey, which included 629 voters on Oahu, sampled 67 percent landlines and 33 percent cellphones, and has a margin of error of 3.2 percent.

The positive attitudes of Hawaii residents toward their representatives in Washington stands in sharp contrast to how Congress’s overall performance is viewed by the American people. In the past 10 years, Americans have soured on Congress, with 70 percent of voters saying it is doing a bad job. Trump’s approval rating has also dipped below historic lows for newly elected presidents.

But despite the negative political atmosphere in Washington, more than twice as many people found reasons to praise Hawaii’s delegation as chose to criticize it.

Senator Brian Schatz in HCB office. 31 may 2017
Sen. Brian Schatz had the highest statewide approval rating among members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation.
Cory Lum/Civil Beat
About 55 percent of the voters polled judged Schatz favorably, and only 23 percent viewed him unfavorably. He was particularly strong among senior citizens, with 58 percent of those older than 50 saying they approved of him.

“Schatz eventually will become another (Sen. Daniel) Inouye,” said poll respondent Paul Bowskill, a retired advertising executive who lives on the Big Island and said he had known and admired the veteran senator who died in 2012.

“(Schatz is) on good committees, he’s not making waves,” said Bowskill. “I think he’s slowly and quietly moving and he will end up with a decent amount of power.”

Hirono’s favorability ratings were only slighter lower than Schatz’s, with 53 percent of voters saying they had a positive impression of her, compared with 28 percent saying they had a negative opinion. Her biggest political support comes from senior citizens of Japanese or Hawaiian descent.

Hirono’s support was more strictly partisan than the rest of the delegation. About 75 percent of Democrats viewed her positively but only 20 percent of Republicans did.

About 48 percent of the voters polled viewed Hanabusa favorably, compared with 27 percent who viewed her unfavorably.

Tupper is a particular fan of Hanabusa.

“She’s smart, she’s dedicated and she wants to make things better,” he said.

The most marked change in voter opinion involved Gabbard, long a darling of national media who climbed even higher into the political limelight after she championed Bernie Sanders last year in the race for the presidency. Her political independence has won her both praise and criticism.

Some of that criticism came in early January when she met with President-elect Trump at his home in New York City before the inauguration, stirring rumors that she wanted to join his administration, which she denied. Then she raised eyebrows by traveling surreptitiously to Syria to meet with despotic Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad, in what she described as an attempted peace parley.

Several voters said they admired Gabbard, but were surprised and disturbed by some of her recent actions, which some called opportunistic and overly ambitious.

For a Democrat, Gabbard has an unusual amount of support among Republicans. Poll respondent T.R. Stanton, a retired construction worker who lives on the Big Island, is one of those who likes her.

“I voted for her because she’s a veteran and I’m a veteran,” Stanton said. “Once she realizes her constituents don’t approve of some of her actions she will change. So far I’m more on the favorable side than the unfavorable side.”

He called Hirono “terrible, a follower, not a leader.”

Stanton, a Republican who supports Trump, also said he “doesn’t much care for” Schatz. And he called Hanabusa “the worst.”

Timely justice for Shri Shim!

Who let the boat out?

These lines make a good chant.

And, they make a good rhythm.

Spell it out on surfboards.

Pound it out on drums.

We are at the courthouse.

Justice for Shri Shim.

Falconer. Krishna West is not a new concept. Even in Bhaktisiddhanta's times they started to "westernize" aspects of the cult to appeal to a broader western audience. Things like wearing leather shoes or driving in cars/trains/planes to "preach" were introduced. Bhaktisiddhanta was even willing to serve meat at his temples if it meant they would attract more people. ISKCON—under Bhaktivedanta's approval had devotees dressed in "karmi" clothes and wigs to distribute cult literature.

ISKCON and other Gaudiya Math gurus have been using platforms like FB and twitter to connect with young followers for years now. Calling it "Krishna West" is new and is an attempt to dilute the traditions of an archaic bengali cult to make them more accessible and palatable to skeptical young westerners. And yes, Siddhaswarupananda has been doing that for years—since Bhaktivedantas death (you can hardly visit a Butler website and notice that it's a krishna cult). Hiding behind casual ideas like "you're not your body", "Chant and be happy" and "Eat prasadam". You can call it preaching according to time, place and circumstance, but realistically it's called covert indoctrination in complete mythological mind garbage. In the end, all you are told is that you need to chant and be happy. If you ask too many questions or want to know details and are told a bunch of mumbo jumbo that does not add up you will be told to keep chanting till your heart is pure enough to "understand" this "complete knowledge". The ideal Krishna West candidate is a person who likes to do yoga stretching and wear ganesh t-shirts while going to kirtan high on ganja. Correct me if I'm wrong. Its about quantity—not quality. Celebrating one million youtube views is the new reciting of Sankirtan/book distribution numbers in the temple room every morning. It's about followers and money. Always has been always will be.

ISKCON is not failing in the west because it's members dress in Saris and dhotis and wear tilak/neckbeads/sikhas. Their failing because they harass people at airports, have a history of crooked dealings and peddle puranic mythology/ideology as literal fact. Worshiping boar and lion incarnations and believing in monkey and bear armies and 4 headed lotus-born creation gods and suns being pulled by chariots is the least of their problems.

People can go to kirtans and eat free temple food and enjoy a surreal experience at hindu temples. It's a departure from their day to day. At least it's realistic to what "hinduism" is all about. Krishna West dilutes that authentic expression and misrepresents it. It's an india-centric cult replete with gods dressed in indian clothing and concerning themselves with india-centric flora and fauna. It's not like the gods ride giraffes and capybara vahanas.

Butler always forbade his followers to travel to India. Yet the scriptures advise that we visit holy places like Vrndaban etc. What do you think will happen when your Krishna West followers go to India and see what their "faith" is really all about? Durga, Shiva lingas, Kumbha Mela etc. They will shit their pants. It's a culture shock to say the least. There is nothing inherently wrong about it all—but it is a cultural phenomenon. By far not a "eternal dharma". I sure as heck hope people are more decent and well informed nowadays to behave with compassion and tolerance without having to believe in some blue play-boy god who mucks about with 12 year old married cowherd village girls to guide their belief systems and moral/ethical considerations.

The Mahabharata is full of stories that pertain specifically to hindu culture. Many of the stories are confusing to western devotees: Pandavas were meat-eaters, many characters had many wives or affairs, countless stories are downright barbaric in a modern context yet we are told that they were a more "advanced" culture/society.

What can I say—have fun deluding yourself and your follower's. Love the cheeky logo too. A roman-styled court house with a flute underneath it. Can't even begin to understand what that is meant to communicate. All the people you'll sue in the name of krishna? Or the fact that most hindu gods can be found in greko-roman myths as well?

H.D. Goswami is a fraud and fool like the rest of them. I truly hope your kids break free of this crap and don't bow to this crooked man. International Society for Krooked Con-artists. It all started when Bhalktivinode falsified the birthplace of chaitanya and bhaktisiddhanta taking sanyas in his dreams. How convenient. Sanyas is not even an initiating order in the Gaudiya tradition. Chaitanya himself had written, "I am not a sanyas, I am not a brahmana..." yet somehow Bhaktisiddhanta felt it pertinent to introduced these naive hierarchies in modern day gaudiya vaishnavism with little to no logical reason. The whole purpose of the bhakti cults in india was to do away with brahmanism and these social caste system hierarchies. Yet to this day all ISKCON and Gaudiya math and their off shoots still adhere to the brhaman initiation system—allowing crack-head junkie brahmanas to go up on the altar to serve the statues and classifying hardcore bhaktas as "neophytes"/Kanistas because they are not wearing a brahmans thread. It's a sick messed up joke my friend. Break free.

With Butler- you will not get anything but tears.

There will be no spiritual guidance- for he has none to offer.

He does however offer you much suffering

This video shows a former doctor of Butler as he tries to explain how little he received from Butler.

Why the tears you ask?

Have you forgotten so soon?

Some of Butler’s more famous ‘spiritual” teachings:

From the Cult Forum- courtesy of Quotesman-

"You are all demons, you are just like f###king
ISCON, You’re all condemned!!!"

"I am not condemning you, you are condemning
yourself."

"My Godbrothers in Iskcon are clumps of dog stool."

"If I don’t want to answer you, you are at fault not me."

"If you don’t know you are not supposed to know."

"Tell that a-hole the only way he can come to a gathering is if he pays $100
dollars each time."

"Tell a-hole I changed my mind, he has to pay $1,000 dollars every gathering
he comes."

"As soon as you realize you have nothing to offer me and you don’t know anything maybe then I can teach you something."

"It is your fault, the guru is faultless."

"My disciples make me sick."

"You would think with 25 kitchen servants and 35 preparations a day,
spending over a hundred dollars a meal, you a##holes could make something
good to eat. Instead I have to go to a Chinese restaurant to get a bite to
eat. A-holes!!!'"

"You fool! Don’t say the metal detectors are to detect guns, say they are to
detect beeper watches, you know what a great offense it is to wear one near
me. Oh I am so irritated by that sound!!!"

"Damn it keep your gun in your bead bag. That’s
what it is for idiot!! You probably thought you were supposed to keep
beads in that bag. Fool!!! I have to teach you guys everything!!!"

"WTF is a##hole doing here, tell him to get the f##k out of here."

"Tell J--- I don’t want to see his face, but because I have to talk to him
and deal with him, he can wear a bag over his head, then I don’t have to
see his face."

"I am more humble than anyone, even my own guru."

"Damn bogus guru! They all have guruitis.”

"My disciples all have guruitis too!!!"

[“Guruitis” is a term Butler used to describe a follower who is envious and wants to be a guru. Of course no one can be guru but Butler alone.]

"My disciples are all f###king neophytes.”

"Everyone has guruitis but me and VD."

"Insulting VD is worse than insulting me you idiot."

"Are those a-holes still running that store in Lahaina, why don’t they give
it to DTE, a-holes--- and they call themselves my disciples make all kinds
of money while their kids skate and surf, a-holes, they should give it to
me."

"WTF!!!!.. you guys have been working on getting
this house together for 6 weeks now. You expect me to live here after you
shit all over it??? You missed a space there dumb shit, cover it with
tin foil so I can live here in peace. Straighten out your germ mask idiot."

"Tell Sankirtan das to stay out of my house, he has dirt between his toes."

"Tell Wayne and Krishna das (Mike Gabbard- Tulsi Gabbards father) , WTF, I let them get into politics and now they act just like politicians!!!! They became
politicians, those buttheads!!"

"I let my disciples dress like karmis and materialist and now they act like
karmis and materialists, a-holes."

"Call the head of personal service, everyone fast for 6 months, the milk in
the refrigerator is out of date. Call a meeting worldwide. Tell the head
of personal service to get her ass here right
now!! WTF is this hair doing in my soup gaddamit. Tell everyone fast for a
year, six months is too lenient. Tell the head of personal service not
only must she fast from food and water she has to fast from sleep too!!!”

Get that sh###t out of here, you call that prasadam, a-holes!!!” Everyone
is fined 1,000 dollars each.!!!"

"You spend a fuggen $100,000 dollars on this air machine and I still have to
use an oxygen bottle, can’t you guys do anything right??"

"What you expect me to breathe, common air?? A-holes!!"

"What? Just because you come here and clean my floor and wash my dishes,
eat my toenails and drink my footwater you think you have the right to talk
to me, write me a letter a-hole."

"The only person I can trust is VD."

"The guru is never attached to the opposite sex."

"Where is VD, I have not seen her in the last 10 minutes."

"What you think I spend all my time with my wife because I am attached?
A-hole this is pure devotional service, me and VD will serve together in
the spiritual world too, you envious snake!!"

"The pure devotee is peaceful and does not need anything or anyones
service, he has Krsna.”

"The pure devotee is self satisfied, always peaceful and never troubled by
the duality of the world.”

"The servant of Krishna has no enemies."

"What is that A-hole doing here, I told him get the hell out of Hawaii and
go back to New Zealand."

"Ok you can take off the bag now, I think you learned your lesson."
