So I have a question relating to satanism. This group is considered a cult for obvious reasons that were very clear in the letter from Maxine. However, I was wondering if satanism as a whole is considered a cult or if it is just another type of religion. Is Joy of Satan only considered a cult, because it distorts satanism? I was always under the assumption that satanism was a cult itself as well.

talking the others. You have no idea. Satan also told me most people
are unobservant in the face of the obvious. I posted some pretty
informative video links here for those who can see between the
lines. Look to the numbers. Satan described this to me "like a
domino effect."

As for all the shit that has been said about the Nazis, remember,
how many claim the same about Satanism? It is the same bunch of
jewish liars who spew this garbage and force feed it to the public.

I think what was trying to be communicated by the picture above is that some members of the JoS are puppets controlled by the leader, also they end up all the same, parroting her beliefs.

The self-proclaimed "High Priestess" of the JoS has hanging on her every word a large number of extremely young people, actively recruiting people in their teens with her "Teens for Satan" group. They believe she is a High Priestess, she also claims to communicate Satan's imperatives to them.

These people are very young and don't see that they are hearing Maxine's own personal hodge-podge belief system rather than any ideal which other groups would follow.

Members are told that what Maxine tells them is their god's will for them/the voice of their god. So they are less likely to disobey her commands.

They are told that if they leave the group they are leaving their god. Also ex-members are frequently 'cursed' which adds to the fear of leaving within current members.

Rumours are spread about the fate of ex-members, for instance the group being told falsely that one ex-member since leaving the group and being cursed has developed AIDS.

Donations are encouraged which supposedly go to run the group but no books are available to view. Maxine has got members to buy her consumer durables and other items for herself.

Also there is some sexual 'teaching' from the group, whose membership are in their teens so more easily coerced or exploited than older people.

On the mailing list of JoS people often report bizarre unsolicited mail such as this sent to them, though most seems to have a christian theme.

It seems the JoS has very determined 'enemies'/people 'on the turn' within the organisation- and that these enemies have access to group member's email addresses.

Has anyone any other experiences of this group?
