Meet the staff at Ko Hsuan …

DHYANI / Anke Peffekoven

School Director, Fifth Dimensional Education, German

Dhyani worked for many years as a therapist and group leader in the Osho Commune International in Pune, India.
In
"I have always wanted to work with kids, as I felt that just to work with ‘big’ people was somehow incomplete. When I visited Ko Hsuan with my son, Josho, it was love at first sight for both of us. The spirit of the school is somehow very special: free and wild. It really challenges me to live in awareness, every single moment!"


ANUGYAN - Science, English

Anugyan is trained in Microbiology and has a passion for all kinds of science fact and fiction. He was a teacher at Ko Hsuan for eight years and helped found the ‘Oxford Venture’ for teenagers leaving Ko Hsuan to start further studies in Oxford. He is currently involved in the new teacher-training programme at the school.

"It is amazing to be back at Ko Hsuan and to witness the birth of many new ideas, projects and what feels like the beginning of an entirely new cycle. We’re not reinventing the wheel, we’re just retreading it."


ASUPTA / Emma Jones

Art, Expressive Art

"I have worked as an artist all my life. I love sharing what I have learned and seeing the amazing results. These kids are all so unique - allowed to fully express themselves, they are beautiful and we learn a lot from them."


Dhiren Smiles

Computing, Examinations Officer

Dhiren has recently completed the project of setting up computers throughout all the classrooms.

"There is no such thing as a stupid child - with encouragement, support and stimulation all kids can shine. Ko Hsuan can provide fertile soil for children to flourish."


JENNY HARPUR

Special Needs

Jenny has twelve years experience of professional theatre, directing educational theatre companies, studio and touring productions, and management training workshops. She gained her PGCE from the Open University in 1995. She has taught in several local schools and positively enjoys the ethos of Ko Hsuan.


LALITYA / U. Katzmann

Administrator

Lalitya has a diploma in Social Work. As well as being a social worker, she has been co-ordinator of the reception at the UTA Institute, Cologne.

"For me, this is a place where inner growth, growing up and healing for both the kids and adults happens naturally. A place to fall into place."

Maths

Nish has a Masters Degree in Wood Science, Forest Ecology and Economics. He worked in the construction industry for 25 years.

"I teach here because I love kids and the challenge of teaching them. I believe it is important that there are schools where kids grow up without fear or humiliation."


NISHEETHA / Eleanor Thornycroft

English

Nisheetha gained her PGCSE (post-graduate certificate in secondary education) from the University of London. Her daughter was educated at Ko Hsuan.

"I am here because I love kids, I love Osho’s vision of education, . and I love being able to work in a free and heartful environment."


PRAGEET / V.J. Thompson

Drama, Expressive Arts, Geography

Prageet has 20 years experience in community theatre and a Certificate in Drama Therapy.

"I have been interested in Ko Hsuan for many years, but it was only recently that I felt I had reached the level of maturity needed for this kind of work. I particularly enjoy seeing the kids taking responsibility for their environment and for each other, and noticing the deepening quality of my own awareness and commitment to growth."


SATYAM

Music, Maths, EFL and History

Satyam, who was one of the founders of Osho Ko Hsuan School in 1986, has a master's degree from Cambridge University and a post-graduate certificate in education She was delighted to be invited back to the school after spending the last ten years at Osho Meditation Resort, Pune, co-ordinating the music department and editing Osho's books.

"I am touched to be back here. I fell in love with the school all over again when I came back here to play for the summer music festival - I couldn't say no. The school feels more loving, more well-organised than ever...just a trmendous feeling of potential. It's unique and unbelieveably precious: the only Osho school on this planet right now."

Site Manager

Shaan brings a wide range of experience to the job of site manager - looking after the school buildings and the grounds. He also teaches practical skills.

SUPRAGYA / Keith Bartlam

Head Teacher, School Director

Supragya is a history and economics graduate with 25 years experience of teaching in Secondary, Further and Adult education. In recent years he has taught Businress Studies and Accounts and has experience of running a small business.

"I was looking for more intensity in my life and also to live in a community in the countryside. As Jake's father - Jake is 5 years old - I'm so happy that he is able to share Ko Hsuan with me.Of all the roles I've had in my adult life this one at Ko Hsuan is the most challenging and the most fulfilling. I've never enjoyed what I do so much as I do here."
