This is an old posting, but very similar in thread to what a a friend of mine in the Denver area seems to be going through. She and a fellow Gurdjieff member started a math tutoring program on weekends. Her aim is to follow a more spiritual life, but having worked professionally with her for several years, I suspect she has somehow become "brained-washed". We entered into a reguar business venture but her restrictions on travel (it interferes with her weekly Gurdjieff meetings) or she can't take a days vacation from her full time job to work on our enterprise, but can take a full week off to go to the Gurdjieff center north of San Fransciso to study music implies to me they are into heavy mind control and guilt trips. Sort of sad seeing a freind deteriorate right befor my eyes. Naturally any honest discourse over this seems to be verbotten and is unduly "hurtful" on my part. Too bad the feds can't investigate and shut this things down.
