I didn't know much about it either before reading this post but seems to be an emerging religion in it's new popularity, even if it has been around for quite sometime.

As far as I know, Baha'i group is a benign group that is all-inclusive. There were some groups that broke away from the main Baha'i tenants and had their own teachers and claimed to be the 'true Baha'i' people - a major sect of these types was operating in Montana for quite a long time - and I was told by a friend who runs a Bahai' elementary school - that fear mongering was a major part of their teachings. I would steer clear of any of the sub-groups.

Administration of Bahai-ism is Authoritarian

Many have left because they loved the Bahai faith but discovered that in reality, administration is authoritarian and attempts at open and adult discussion are met with reprimands and punishment.

One only discovers this when one disagrees. So long as you are docile, it
is all sweetness and light.

Read this before coverting or marrying into the Bahai faith.
