A recent Twitter from Jenny McCarthy:

"Going out to dinner with Jim and Byron Katie. I love her!"
(5:09 PM May 9th from web)

Most folks know by now that "Jim" is her megastar boyfriend, Jim Carrey.

This would be the Jim Carrey who used to be satisfied with making multi-millions from silly movies. Now he's writing a self-help book. God help us all.

If I had seen that particular video when I was trying on The Work for size, I would probably have been very turned off.

I'm certainly turned off now.

Nothing soothing about that video at all. It's actually jarring, grating.

My opinion anyways.

make sure to save some copies of that "movie poster" for the new Byron Katie DVD.
It might get Disappeared, after the criticism from her own people.
It would also be good to have it uploaded into the thread.

Here is what is interesting.
This thread has said for ages, that Byron Katie is literally engineering that type of prayer-worship towards Byron Katie in her people.

And there is a YouTube video where some lady is literally on-her-knees and crying, with hands in a prayer position, before Byron Katie in a parking lot during a BK gathering.

None of that is an accident in the least.
Its all precisely engineered in the Byron Katie materials and even the text in her books, videos and CD's. Its all there in black and white, to the trained eye. Its not accidental at all, its being literally engineered into suggestible people's minds.

This movie poster actually PROVES that is exactly what Byron Katie is trying to do to her mainly female audience. They are in a prayer position, gazing up with their inner-eye, to see the "spirit" Byron Katie coming in on the clouds.
(its also sorta like moonlight too, which is another BK image from Losing The Moon)
This is the exact same message as the banned/burnt Byron Katie books, where they were promoting her as the 2nd Coming of the WomanChrist.

Notice also the exact same patterns, how Byron Katie always gets OTHERS to do it for her, like she did with her former ghost-writers.
Now she has orchestrated this movie, and will pretend she had nothing to do with it.
Which is of course, utterly false.

As it sounds like they are just going to use video clips from her LGAT seminars, and things like that, which BKI owns, of course.

Its all the same patterns, old wine in new bottles.

But save, or upload a copy of that movie poster, that one might get Disappeared, and switched to something like a book cover.
As the movie poster tells the precise Story of what Byron Katie is doing to her people. Byron Katie loves the poster, she loves people gazing up at her with their hands clasped in prayer.

(by the way, all of Jenny McCarthy's movies have flopped horribly, so she is now moving into the New Wage scene.)

Byron Katie (the Work) "overcome all "cult" ideas and mind silliness"
Posted by: The Anticult ()

one other interesting aspect of what Byron Katie said...

QUOTE "overcome all "cult" ideas and mind silliness".

Its really interesting that she doesn't go into any of these "cult" ideas in specific, to even try to refute any of them. Which cult ideas is she referring to?
But the next part is even more interesting.

"mind silliness".

This is likely referring to the misuse and abuse of the so-called Nondual or Advaita stuff.
People and "leaders" who are misusing those ideas to their own advantage, try to get people to think that their own naturally curious minds are the enemy. They try to turn the mind back around on itself.

So when Byron Katie's own people start to ask valid questions about her, and what she is doing...she just labels it as "mind" silliness. Trying to reframe the careful analysis of her methods as mind-chatter.
This is the same attempt to simply just try to passify people's minds, as if their mind is their enemy.

But in reality, the mind is not the enemy, of course. Byron Katie is highly intelligent, and uses her own "mind" to generate hundreds of hours of mind-chatter, which she sells as books and seminars, and videos.
What she is really saying is don't listen to your OWN mind, just listen to HER mind-chatter.

This is the same tactic as above, where she is trying to insert her own image into people's unconscious minds, and superimpose it over their own internal self-image.

In reality, what is healthiest is to do the opposite of what she is saying. That is, we all need to learn how to trust our own intuitions, and trust our own thinking.
Careful analysis and critical intelligence doesn't make people unhappy, quite the opposite.

Trying to just blot-out your "mind" like she talks about is what will mess a person up. Even worse, then taking on BK's mind-chatter and beliefs and images, will mess a person up even more.
That is how some folks appear to become somewhat of a BK clone, in their language patterns and thoughts. Some of her followers even seem to mimic her poses in their photos of themselves.

If people gave up all the BK mimicry, and just went back to thinking for themselves, and using their own natural curiosity and critical intelligence, then she is going to lose a lot of business.

I think that there is no harm whatsoever in the Work of Byron Katie or the teachings of Eckhart Tolle. Why should there be? What exactly does one lose by engaging in spiritual inquiry? Could it not be, if anything, more harmful to engage in paranoia of these teachers? You don't have to believe in what they teach, but surely there is no good reason to obsess over them and attempt to defame their images. They are not leaders of authoritarian mind control cults that exploit and abuse their followers; no one has ever had any difficulty leaving behind The Work of Byron Katie or putting down Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. If you don't like what they teach, why not simply ignore them? Surely you would not be so closed-minded as to brand anyone who claims to have benefitted from their teachings as misguided or brainwashed?

Here is an analogy:

There are shepherds out there who are looking for sheep to add to their flock, but only sheep will be shepherded. There has never yet been a lion that followed a shepherd. Are you a sheep or a lion?

BK's question of the month:

Quote

It is not possible that every man, woman, and child in the world does not love me and care about me with all their heart. How is it that I am so sure of this?

Here are some of the responses:

Quote

You are sure because you love and care for everyone, man, woman, child.. You get what you send out...

Quote

All people are closest to their own being , and you are the essence of all beings as we all are, only you have realized it so fully, and are totally at one with that, and as a result, you are also one with all people's own dear Self as well--their essential "me' so to speak.

Quote

And you are so sure because out of that oness comes your ability to experience that love with the one in front of you and you help that love surface in them so that they become aware of it as well, and they know it as well and then everyone is sure!!!

Quote

Katie, You know this because you do not see any of what we say or do as personal in anyway. You are not identified with the story of what any of it means. You see everyone as doing the best they can... always.

Quote

You are so sure of this because you're no longer confused. Just innocence finding it's way to itself. That could only be love.

Quote

Because you know God and you love God.

It is talk like this that keeps the followers hooked. Judging by their responses, people are lapping it up. It is how they maintain her so called spiritual status. It is how they maintain the myth. It is how they keep themselves drugged. They supposedly investigate stories, but they forget to investigate the biggest story of all.

Especially the last quote sums it all up, which incidentally has been made by someone who is extremely close to BK, and has seen a lot of first hand bullshit, but chooses to close her eyes to that.

This is downright guru/cult leader/spiritual teacher worship. All discrimination is gone. They wallow in what they think is genuine love and feel safe like little birds in the nest.
