Many of us don't subscribe to HBO. Is there any other way to get access to "Going Clear"?

On a serious note:

Time for the federal government to investigate the 'Hole'(s).

And issue a writs habeas corpus or whatever it takes to
reveal the whereabouts of the disappeared.

Going Clear Fantasy Party

(All of this is a fantasy. Cult Education Institute is not responsible for any of this.)

Anyone who has HBO and will view Going Clear -- invite Supressive Person friends to share the event.

If you are energetic, here is a plan for a party.

Corboy offers this script -- and takes no responsibility for departures
from the script.

Do the following inside one's own home. This is important. You don't
know whether your neighbors are covert members of CO$.

Corboy advises no alcoholic beverages or other drugs be served or used.

Going Clear is a significant event. Don't miss it by being stoned or drunk. Going Clear deserves to be savored whilst one is lucid.
.
Make sure your smoke/CO detectors work. Purchase batteries if they do not.

If you don't have smoke/CO detectors, go out and buy some. We want
each other to live healthy and happy lives.

Stock up on TP and paper towels. Never enough of these for a party.

Convene several hours ahead.

Do it like they do at a good high school prom.

Wear Hawaaiian shirts, and spend some hours before show time building a tiki
volcano.

Let another group of people build a replica of the CO$ HQ in Los Angeles --
ya know, the other Blue Whale.

No need for explosives. Going Clear should take care of that.

While waiting for the show to come on, go to the internet and read about
Hubbard and Jack Parsons and Aleister Crowley.

Next, type these terms into the Google slot.

ron hubbard jack parsons aleister crowley "babalon working"

This is what Elron did before he created Dianetics and then Scientology.

Watch the show.

As show time ends, climb into the volcano.

At the end, jump forth from the volcano wearing Guy Fawkes Anonymous masks.

Hurl TP at the replica of the CO$ HQ.

Film all of this and play it on Youtube, finding a way to conceal your
point of origin.

With luck, this should join toga parties and tiki parties as a beloved
party theme world wide.

Team up, clean up, hug.

Long term project:

Create your own re-write of "Arise Ye Wretched of the Earth".

You want something with vim and vigor that can be sung forcefully,
like the original.

Do any métier you like, ranging from folk, up to
punk to and on heavy metal.

Get further ideas by studying methods used to shame governments
to reveal or set free those who have disappeared in their custody.

The quote at the end of the HBO preview: "no explanation other than faith." IMHO, faith is fine for established religions backed up by Scripture, but L.Ron Hubbard? Rael? the Heaven's Gate guy all with their weird theories? No thanks.

Corboy query:

What is Scientology?

A church entitled to tax exempt status in relation to the United States of America?

Or is it a sovereign state, with the right to inflict physical penalties upon its subjects and incarcerate erring subjects?

Or both?

In the latter case -- incarceration -- those incarcerated should be permitted
to receive visits from the Red Cross and opportunities to correspond with and receive visits from their families.

In the West, only the Pope was both head of a church and also a functioning
sovereign ruler with the acknowledged right to declare and wage war,
and incarcerate.

But this ended after the Unification of Italy.

Today, the Popes can enforce church discipline via canon law, but
their right to imprison persons for spiritual offenses is long gone.

I've been going a little overboard collecting Going Clear-related links on my site plus a few initial reflections on the book which I read earlier this year.
Approaching 150 links that date from Lawrence Wright's original 2011 New Yorker article to a few minutes ago^. I really don't see how Cruise can ever promote a film again...

Going Clear scared the hell out of me. That was the most gut-wrenching film I've seen since I watched Twelve Years a Slave. And in a way, it IS a film about slaves and slavery, Going Clear.

The person of L. Ron Hubbard both fascinates and terrifies me. By all accounts, when he was alive he crazy as hell. Behind closed doors and in person, he'd babble incoherently, he was delusional, he was sadistic, he'd hallucinate, he was barely lucid and oriented, he'd get terribly intoxicated, and on and on. A very sick man, he, to put it mildly.

What mystifies me is this: put simply, how did he DO that? For a man who was clearly psychotic and not at all in touch with any kind of objective reality, he put together and set into motion one of the most "successful" (for lack of a better word) scams of all time!

So how was he able to pull it off? The man was off his rocker, but he had brains enough to have a vision, to formulate a premeditated plan, and then to make it a reality.

Not that I admire LRH in any way; I do not. I think that CO$ and everything associated with it is pure evil, from top to bottom. And I think that LRH was an evil man if there ever was one.

The whole story of the CO$ is, to me, a prime example of truth being stranger than fiction. The fact that this schizophrenic, paranoid, sadistic madman Dr. Evil type was able to create his Evil Empire just blows my mind. Wow.

It mystifies me. How did he DO that?

Any insights among you, RR (or anybody else)?

PS: anybody (other than second-gen,third-gen, or etc.) in this day and age of the Internet who would see that film, or read any critical info about CO$ at all, and would STILL sign on to be a part of $cientology, must have really serious problems in the first place (IMO).

Even when I was a religious addict and a "cult-hopper", CO$ scared me. I just cannot understand how anybody (again, other than second-gen,third-gen, or etc.) could see that documentary (or other ones like it, on the topic of CO$) and still give CO$ a nickel, or an instant of their time.

Any idea how one can watch that documentary if they don't subscribe to HBO? (and they're outside of the US)?

Frankly, you'll have to wait for the DVD (pretty much).
