I am a screenwriter based in London, UK. I am currently researching the world of cults for a new feature film script. I am becoming versed in the mechanics of how people come to join cults, and the behavioral characteristics of their members and leaders. But would be very interested to hear accounts from people who have had direct experiences in any religious /new age based cults. I am hoping to hear of specific incidents, with as much detail as possible. Incidents of coercion, extortion, practices, recruitment, physical or sexual abuse, and the leaders and other members characteristics. My hope is to use these accurate and compelling details to give the films characters a credibility which is rooted in reality.
