Scientology cult is back recruiting in NYC subways for the holidays. Appears to be a repeat of last year's recruiting drive on the subways. Saw them on Saturday in the 34th St-Penn Station B, D, F and V passageway leading to the 35th St exit. Same setup as last year - "Stress Test", free Dianetics books and tables.

Each year around Christmas, Hanuakkah and New Year's, the Scientology cult does a recruitment drive throughout the US in an attempt to ensnare people who may be having emotional difficulties around holiday time, since this time of year can be difficult for many people.

I saw the horrific yellow jackets with red letters in the 42nd Street subway near 8th Avenue, they had the whole set up there.

Instead of leafletting them or protesting them, call the Station Manager, you will find their phone number on a poster near the token booth.

Tell the Station Manager that this group is blocking the flow of traffic in the subway, blocking the movement of passengers and creating an unsanitary condition. Give date, time and approximate number of culties. You can also say that they were harrassing passengers, creating an unsafe condition.

enough calls to the Station Manager and they will NOT be welcome in the subways.

Were they near the A, C and E trains or the 1, 2 and 3? Last year they were near the transfer point between the S/N/R and the 1/2/3.

Smart, actually (for them) -- captive audience, stressed (coming to or from work), holiday time=depression. Just shows how desperate they are if they have to go to a subway to recruit. What, people aren't just showing up at your door and asking you to clear their thetans? I wonder why.

Part of the problem is that the Scientology cult recruiters will set up tables and chairs in "bottleneck" areas of the subways, so people have no choice but to walk past them. This is not only bad in terms of exposing people to the cult, but it is also an extreme safety hazard since it is taking up valuable space in the subways. It should be noted that the Jews for Jesus and Jehovah's Witnesses cults also do the same thing.

when I last saw them they creating a foot traffic hazard near the entrance to the Port Authority by the A, C & E trains. They were set up right before the tunnel to the 1, 2 & 3 trains.

I saw them near the S/N/R, too, grabbing the space that the MTA gives to Musicians and performer.

They had a whole set selling books and were solicting donations.
