Thanks Muppet, we had indeed seen this thread, and have now started reading thru it, and are learning a lot. Still have more to read, but want to say how comforting and re-assuring it is to find scripture quoted meaningfully, and not just as a tool or a means to and end, and messages delivered with a good measure of understanding and not just judgement.
We are full of admiration for the survivors of Dave's community who have written here, and for the support shown to those still in it. We are very aware of how hard it would be to walk away from, and are realising how damaging it must be to stay.
