this is very helpful information. i know that his name started cropping up several years back in new age circles in los angeles--with the same kind of awe that is usually reserved for krishnamurti and ramana maharshi. nisargadatta and nityananda...i remember reading that bruce wagner (a high profile student of carlos castaneda) and leonard cohen (folk poet and singer and longtime zen student) spent a month with balkesar in bombay last year...thank you for putting this information out there.
