The Lord Steven Christ

I came across this guy on Facebook; a page called Fundies Say The Darndest Things had an excerpt from his website, and man, what a website it is:

At first glance I wondered if they had the link wrong -- this guy looked like some sort of wanna-be rock star/conspiracy theorist. Keep scrolling down and you'll see all sorts of buggy things. Apparently the numerology of his birth name equaled 666, so he changed to Lord Steven Christ and realized he was in fact the incarnation of Jesus (what, another one?).

The link that was shared on Facebook was this one: **Warning: It's loading quite a few videos and can freeze up your computer if it's prone to freezing when overwhelmed...**

Scroll halfway down the first page and he talks about how NASA took pictures of the earth through a fish-eye lens and that's why pics of the earth look round, but in fact the earth is inverted and the entire finite galaxy is inside this inverted sphere.

The whole site is image- and video-heavy so just a word of caution. If you're on dial-up, forget it! If not, pop in and have fun.

Interesting. About a hundred years ago there was a now-defunct group called Koreshan Unity which had its headquarters near Estero, Florida. Their leader, Cyrus Teed, who took the name Koresh, also taught that the earth was hollow, only a few thousand miles across and contained the entire universe inside. He didn't have the advantage of NASA technology, however.

When Koresh died his followers laid his body out on a plank in the hot Florida sun because he had prophesied that he would rise from the dead. There it lay for quite awhile until the Lord took pity on the commune and sent a hurricane. When the storm was over both body and plank were gone! The KU's considered it a miracle.

The group eventually died out because another one of their beliefs was that reproduction was evil. The state of Florida now owns the property and it is a state park.

Interesting things one learns on one's travels. . .

Ever heard of Zevs Cosmos and the "Nudist Christian Church of the Blessed Virgin Jesus"?
