HI all,

I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with a breakaway Catholic order called "The Order of St Charbel", run by a guy called William Kamm (aka: The LIttle Pebble)? They are based in southern New South Wales, Australia.

Appreciate any info you have,

Thanks

Cindy

A quick Google search will give you much information on the Order. Also, when you Google, do a search in Google groups as you can get firsthand accounts and discuss information with people who may have been involved with them.

Cindy,

William Kamm was excomunicated from the Catholic Church a couple of years ago and by default all members of his cult are too.

You may check with the Office of the Bishop of Wollongong for the latest with this group. I thought they had dissapeared.

Kamm believed he had visions of the Virgin Mary. Hhe also used sex a power trip over his female followers.

I heard some stuff about him which was really dodgy. He supposedly would think up of something he'd want to do, and for him to do that, he'd have to make up a story and say that that's what the Virgin Mary wanted him to do. He'd never do anything unless "she" told him to.

It's pretty bizarre. Cause he can be doing something totally contraditory to what he said a day before..

June sex assault trial date for Little Pebble
By Erin O'Dwyer[/b:ec6589923a]
[b:ec6589923a]CAMBEWARRA cult leader William "Little Pebble" Kamm will stand trial in June. (2005)
NSW District Court Chief Judge Reg Blanch yesterday ordered Kamm to stand trial on sexual assault charges on June 6. The trial, in Sydney District Court, is expected to last four weeks.

Kamm has been charged with sexually assaulting two teenage followers, aged 14 and 15, while they were members of his religious cult at Cambewarra, near Nowra.

The 53-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including three counts of sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16, one count of
aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under 16, four counts of aggravated indecent assault, one count of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under 16, four counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of attempting to commit an act of indecency.

The two women - now in their 20s - claim Kamm told them that they had been selected by the Virgin Mary to be "queens" which allowed them to marry Kamm and bear his children.

One of the girls allegedly had a sexual relationship with Kamm for five years before falling pregnant. Both women have since left the cult. In April, his legal team made a failed bid to have all charges against him dropped, but were successful in having the trial relocated from Wollongong to Sydney. Kamm remains free on bail.
