THE TRIAL

The big news this month (although it will probably be bigger next
month) is the trial. The depositions are all but finished, and the
lawyers are talking about out of court settlements. We are
restricted in what we can say just yet, but it has not stopped
someone on the other side passing on information (some true and some
false) to Liesel et al, as the campaign to protect the Johnson Family
in their cowardly attack on Reinhard continues to actually GROW...
around the world.

Here is the video of just 13 seconds of the attack, for anyone who
hasn't already seen it. That's Jeremy bravely putting his own life
at risk as he tries to shout for police and distract John Onyejiaka
and Jared Johnson from their efforts to kill Reinhard.

Important background information on the trial and updates on how
things are going now:
[welikejesus.com]

This one is a bit more light-hearted, as it traces enemies all over
the world trying to back up Craig's claim (to the FBI and Long Beach
Police) that we call ourselves "killers for Christ". In the end,
they conclude that Craig had a right to say it because he was quoting
something that he saw on the Internet... written by Craig himself, of
course!
[welikejesus.com]

And cash donations are being solicited to help get the family
(further) off the hook for their hateful attack:

CHERRY'S OPERATION

Cherry is now recovering from an operation to "restructure" her foot
due to deformities from arthritis. They had to break and fuse about
ten bones, which are now being held together by wires that stick out
the end of her toes, until the bones grow together. She is in a lot
of pain, but seems to be making steady progress in getting around.

CARMEN PASSES

Roland's mother, Carmen, who would, without a doubt, be the parent
who has been most supportive of our work over the years, died
peacefully in her sleep after a long struggle with cancer. Carmen
lived with the group for about a year when Daniel was a baby. She
stayed with us in the U.K., and also in India during that period.
When she was living in Melbourne, she would put up members of the
community whenever they were in the area, whether Roland was with
them or not.

HOLIDAY IN GREECE

Daniel finished school this term and together with Roland and Sue
headed off for a wonderful five-day holiday in Athens to meet up with
the family of Roland's kidney recipient from Cyprus. Roland's kidney
recipient is doing very well and enjoying getting back to a normal
healthy life after the transplant last October. It was an
especially big treat for Roland to visit the ancient sites of the
Acropolis and Poseidon's Temple and for all of them to swim in the
Mediterranean Sea with very hot daily temperatures of up to 40
celcius. We are grateful to the family of Roland's recipient for
this generous gift and wonderful experience.

KENYA VOLUNTEERS

The first two teachers whose classes have reached a set target on the
reading program have been awarded prizes at an assembly in their
honour. The male teacher received a bicycle, while the female
teacher, Alice, received a sewing machine. When we delivered the
sewing machine to Alice's house, the family was so thankful that they
loaded us down with eggs, maize, fruit, and a live hen (which is
already producing eggs for us).

A newly married couple from Australia, and a volunteer from the U.S.
both left us this month after lengthy stints as volunteers. But
others have taken their place: a young man from North India, and a
couple from England and the Netherlands. Our Indian friend cooked
his first ever meal, with help from his mother and sister who sent
him the recipe and whom he called during the preparation to confirm
that everything was in order!

A GARDEN FEAST

Our garden has been getting a lot of attention with so many
volunteers and is producing well. We're loaded with pumpkins and
chokos, and have also harvested soy beans, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce,
stacks of herbs, and the occasional stick of sugar cane, as well as a
few eggplants. We have eaten a few of the fish from our little pond,
as about 50 baby fish grow to take their place. There have also been
a few chicken dinners and feasts on fried rabbit this month, as we
reap the benefits of our work with those animals.

IRISH CULT INTERVIEW

Jayme was interviewed on the topic of 'cults' on an Irish radio
station, where he was able to give a more balanced approach to the
whole subject.

PAUL ON FREEGANISM

Paul was invited onto a live BBC TV show (The Big Questions) where
the topic was, "Is downsizing good for the soul?" Paul said, "A
World without greed is a world without need; we should declare war on
greed," in response to a quote from Gordon Brown (UK Prime Minister)
about declaring war on waste. Paul had a couple of people who took
books from him the day after the show make positive comments about
how he came across.

Paul, Ulrike, and Alan also spent time with a Children's BBC channel
doing a short report on waste. Sadly, the producers made bin-raiding
out to be dangerous and illegal, and generally ran down the idea
without much talk about anything positive, like saving the planet by
not wasting resources.

You see it on this link:
[news.bbc.co.uk] ... 155954.stm

THIS BUS RUNS ON WASTE

Ross has been preparing the waste veg oil system in order to resume
running the bus on waste veg oil again. He and Baz have also done
some major repairs to rust holes in the body of the bus and plugging
up water leaks on the roof. They installed a new fridge, and they
now have unlimited internet access from within the bus itself, with
solar power available even when they are not driving.

CATHOLIC WORKER HOUSE PARTY

Grace invited the L.A. team over to a house where she volunteers. The
guys had the opportunity to meet some of her new friends and to catch
up with how things have been going with Grace. Although the visit was
brief, it was quite enjoyable.

OTHER NEWS OF FAMILIES AND FRIENDS

Ulrike's sister has given birth to twins, a boy and a girl, in
Germany.

Alan had a nice visit with his mother, who is in her 80s.

Several of us attended a birthday part for Kirstie and her husband at
her church in Somerset.

Others had a bin-raided feast with Simon and Isabel, who feature on
the new DVD.

Jesse's family invited the entire team over for a couple of friendly
visits and more of the delicious food that his mother never fails to
make!

OTHER HEALTH ISSUES

The typhoid outbreak has been stemmed in Kenya, after learning that
our cook was not aware that she is a carrier. When she received
treatment, it ceased to spread.

Ross has been seeing a podiatrist about pains in his feet, and Barry
will be seeing a specialist about a slipped disc in his back, to see
whether surgery will be necessary to fix it.

PLEASE MEET US AT THE TRIAL

The trial is scheduled to begin around 9am, Monday, August 10. We
would appreciate having as many supporters there as possible. Please
email us <fold@idl.net.au> if you are able to attend, so that we can
give you the particulars and keep you updated about any changes. It
is expected to last 5-7 days.

NEW ARTICLES

We forgot to notify people last month about all the new articles that
have been going up on our home page. Here they are:

"The Bohoemian Fantasy" A seductive counterfeit of the kingdom of
heaven.
[cust.idl.net.au]

"Bring on the Recession!" Is the world economic crisis just a storm
in a teacup?
[cust.idl.net.au]

"Predestination and the Twelve Tribes" Some theological
considerations with regard to the Jews, Bible prophecy, and Calvinism.
This one so shocked one reader that she said everyone seriously
contemplating joining our group should read it first before they make
such a terrible complaint. (That should get a few people reading it!)

[cust.idl.net.au]

"Dave Attacks the Cults" What's this? Picking on other new
religious movements, when we have suffered so much at the hands of
the cult-busters ourselves?
[cust.idl.net.au]

"Christians First, Greens Second" Written by Cherry last year. She
questions our haste in becoming too rapt in freeganism.
[cust.idl.net.au]

"Counsel, Counsel, Counsel" Dave suggests that there may be just a
little bit of a zombie attitude amongst our members, and does what he
can to drive it out.

"Flattery and False Prophets" An article which has struck home
already to several posters on our forum, as they have watched people
with smooth tongues almost hypnotise people into believing they have
the truth.
[welikejesus.com]

THE FORUM

The forum crashed for a couple of days during the month, but
hopefully the problem has been fixed this time. Nevertheless, you
never know when it will happen again, so if you want to see any of
the following topics, please go there asap!

Some threads that would be worth visiting (and maybe adding your own
thoughts to) are:

"Who's in Charge Here?" Thoughts mostly from our opponents about Joe
and Alf being co-leaders of the community now. Are they just puppets?
Or are they going crazy with power?
[welikejesus.com]

"Artificial Intelligence--Will Machines Take Over?" An article from
the New York Times
[welikejesus.com]

"Seven Pounds" Movie recommendation.
[welikejesus.com]

"Sex and the Children of God" Dave gets into a serious debate with a
leader in The Family (formerly known as the Children of God) over
their past and present teachings with regard to sex.

"Why Do Forums so Often Turn Nasty?"

Interesting.

It seems that the trial has brought the trolls out.

Paul Connor is banned from the message board.

This is so typical of DM. He is apparently trying to arrange a Michael Jackson type event outside the Court:

Al was probably trying to whip up some media attention, as that is probably what David would like. That's what "Paul Connor" was all about.

And this is interesting. Are they admitting they get gifts for kidney donations now?

Look back at the Lee1983 posts.

This is likely Al as well. Notice Al's habit of using $$$ (dollar signs)

Mal has been writing to me privately and urging me to "calm down." It only upsets me more that Mal seems to be so reductive about my position with respect to the matter, and so dismissive of my feelings. Don't you understand, Mal, how potentially volatile this situation could get, and how dangerous this Connor and the other assorted trolls are? Do you have any idea of the kind of damage they could do?

Get off my back, Mal. It only makes me angrier, and I have no intention of taking heed to your uninvited counsel. Write to Connor all you want, Mal, but I'll have nothing to do with him, and am washing my hands of it. I'm not going to cooperate with him at all. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Dear Zeuszor,

I only saying that we give Paul a chance to be judged by what he posts...and not by whom we might think he is.....We have to agree to disagree on this, I'm sorry!

Dear Zeuszor,

Thank you for all the information in relation to the JC activity....I'd say that David is telling us he's nervous about the outcome of the trial, by trying to sway the process of the court with a "show of numbers"....(may God curse them all for deliberately attempting to pervert the course of justice!)

As you pointed out earlier the JesusChristians have now officially stated that they "work for money", as is evidenced in Reinehardts' claim for "lost earnings"....thus Joe Johnson is actually endorsing the "systemites" that he claims to be battling against.....Doh!...Wake up Joe...PLEASE!!

I'm sure that we would see similar claims in the "cost reimbursements" that the JesusChristians have picked up through the Kidney (so-called) "donations"....the JC's have asked for the "wages" they lost in the process of the operative procedure to be covered.....hypocrisy, ...HYPOCRISY!!

No doubt, David McKay would have made tens and tens of thousands of dollars for his greedy little self, through this.....
