What do you think about [xtremeministries.com]? The owner and head minister is John Renken and he has been caught cheating on his wife with a lady that he married to a man in his church, he preaches on sex and porn and adultry all the time and he gets caught cheating, lol. He uses the UFC and fighting to bring guys to his church. He claims to have a black belt in Sambo and a black belt in Muay Thai and the funny thing is that neither of those styles use belts or have rankings. I think he uses the church to make his gym a non-profit. He was featured on several tv shows talking about MMA and how God is cool with fighting. The guy is a total douche. His church's moto was "Where fist, feet and faith meet" or something like that. I think Xtreme Ministers in Clarksville TN is a Cult, what do you think?

Here he is on The Daily Show

Are you a current member/attendee of this church? You seem to have close working knowledge of it, at least to judge from your allegations.

I live in the same town as Renken and I also own a gym in town. Half my students came to me from Renken's gym because he preaches to them and doesn't train them. So yes, I have a close working knowledge of John and how he runs his life and business. These are not allegations, they are the truth and it's pretty well know in Clarksville about Renken, CMMAA, Xtreme and the way he lives his life as a hypocrite.

First off I would like to say that xtreme ministries is not a cult.
John Renken is not the owner or affiliated with xtreme ministries. Yes he was the founder and yes he had stepped down as pastor a while ago and xtreme has had a new pastor for well over a year now.
Second the church motto is bringing grace to a lost world.
Third I do not believe it is fair for you to be judging the church without ever stopping a foot inside it.
xtreme is not a fight church! Xtreme is a church whose main goal is to love all including fighters, sinners, homeless, etc..
Also I challenge you Ron to step into Xtreme and listen to what Xtreme is about. I promise you it is not what you think it is.

Hi, Toya.

Renkin is the founder of Xtreme ministries but now you have a new pastor? Was Renkin forced out by the congregation and the new pastor voted in?

Is there only one "church" associated with Xtreme ministries?

Is there an annual budget that you all get to look at?

Why do you call rdayley "Ron"? rdayley never to my reading uses "Ron" as his moniker. He mentions in detail what Renkin is doing. Is it possible Renkin started another "church" associated with Xtreme?

Any information you have on your new sect would be useful.

I would suggest, however, that "stepping into" Xtreme to "find out what it is about" is not always the best way to understand a "church" or its motivations/mechanics/operations. I prefer to see what attendees such as yourself have to add about how the "church" operates. One such question: was the new pastor the second-in-command when Renkin left or did the congregation interview several applicants for the position? Do you know how much your pastor is paid by a transparent annual budget?

Thanks in advance for your help to this forum in better understanding your new church.

I should tell you in advance that I looked at the web address that rdayley linked to and found no budgetary reviews for the church and no qualifications of the pastors (like a Phd from Yale divinity school, etc.). How many people attend this church? It looks like only a handful or two from the photos.
