"Brainwashing, The Science of Thought Control"
by Kathleen Taylor

This author is a research scientist, physiology dept., at Oxford University. Taylor blends the fields of social psychology and neuroscience to explain how social/environmental influences can alter brain chemistry and then brainwash someone. The book is on amazon.

Also, recommended by a neuroscientist friend of mine, but more difficult to obtain and written in Italian:

"La Realta' Incantata"
by Fabrizio Benedetti

The author is an internationally recognized neuroscientist (as is my friend who suggested this book). Benedetti's book is about how the continuous bombing of information, and propaganda affects the brain and the social behavior.

If Benedetti's book comes out in English, I'll let you know.
Some of Benedetti's research papers are available online translated into English; just goggle his name.
