If Jacs' behavior wasn't enough to show the org is compromised, which it obviously is, I looked into the 3 other co-founders and seeing major red flags about another co-founder Craig Holliday... In the description of every one of his youtube videos, he likens himself/his teachings as similar to a list of people that include many teachers that are well-known as dangerously unethical

Concerned Wife, there is some more info on Beckwith here I also recommend Rick Ross' book Cults Inside Out: How People Get In and Can Get Out. Ross clearly lays out how to research problematic groups and leaders. Also how to educate loved ones who have maybe fallen under sway of charismatic leaders.

Hello, I am wanting to know the truth here also. My husband & I found out about Beckwith from watching Oprah & in the beginning he sounded great (to my husband) but to me I didn't understand why the words'Jesus Christ or Lord' was never really used. God yes but I hear Deity alot. I myself grew up Catholic & husband Baptist. God,JC & Lord our Savior was always

Part Three Quote ``You apparently have very little knowledge of the world’s wisdom traditions. Okay, that is not necessary to have a good personal relation from Andrew and to benefit from him and his teachings, but again, this is a public forum, where, if arguments are going to be made, there ought to be some meaningful reference to acknowledged authorities. You don’t have that knowledge and

My Impressions of Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath QuoteFinding My Guru · August 13, 2011 I live near Culver City, CA. I also have been to Agape International Spiritual Center. It’s a great place and I really enjoy the teachings of Michael Bernard Beckwith. While unable to attend physically, I did attend virtually through the live stream. I paid the $10 and watched the movie, then later

I'm not sure if the RR board is appropriate for me to be posting this because the Chicken Soup books aren't exactly cultish. However, the more I read about Jack Canfield (one of the founders of the series) and his "specialities" (Law of Attraction/The Secret, self-help, prosperity consciousness, etc.) and who he keeps company with (Bob Proctor, Michael Beckwith, etc.), the mor

Sorry, my error . I've been following the activities of Joseph Michael Levry and recently learned about the connection between him and Beckwith. Levry and Beckwith 'joined forces' ( a phrase used in the p/r material) to stage a 'Naam Yoga Summer Solstice" In Culver City i believe -- wherever Beckwith's Agape International is located. After that event , it was

An ABC news trailer for the above show. At the beginning is a clip of the reporter, Dan Harris, calling into 'Living in the Flow' Ray's new internet radio show. Not surprisingly, DeathRay hangs up on him pronto. Beckwith, the witness of spontaneous cancer and kidney disease cures, also features along Greg Braden with his 3 minute cancer cure con, previously mentioned.

Rhonda Byrne was going broke in her business, and was desperate for money. She used her TV advertising and marketing skills to pull off a clever "impulse buy" with The Secret, taking advantage of human weaknesses of wanting something for nothing. Every marketer knows that. Her marketing for The Secret was basically identical to that used by Lottery companies, where one little ticket

Its more than a bit surprising so many are believing the James Ray propaganda. Even very small time players know how to play this game. There are countless small time players who make a few hundred grand in a year, much of it in cash, and then are able to squirl it away. But these guys are professionals, they hire pros to take care of moving that stuff around. As far as some seminars not be

Its very interesting, the analysis of Dave Lakhani. His name came up in the context of other sleazy covert persuaders like Alex Benzer (Ali Binazir) and James Arthur Ray, and Michael Beckwith from The Secret. Dave Lakhani was basically chosen at random to analyze. He tries to make you believe he is teaching people about cults, covert persuasion, and how to protect themselves from getting exp

Just to clarify a point about the links in this thread between Michael Beckwith, and how some other names became involved. As a matter of fact, the main person involved has a link to a precise persuasion technique being used by Michael Beckwith, in a link below. what beckwith is selling on his website reminds me of porn. they sell similar things, for this amount of money a month you get to see all of my latest videos and other stuff, for a low price of this a month. there is no difference between beckwith and a porn star. he is a shuckster, making money is one of his big aims. what about helping people, what about giving freely, giving with faith that

Beckwith and Agape promote the New Thought idea of "prosperity", and as everyone knows, prosperity begins at home, his home! So the Agape and Beckwith focus on money, is something they would be very focussed on. One expect they also "teach" people, like SGI, that making huge financial "gifts" to the church is going to give you good Karma and make you rich too. T

'Just beware of the embedded persuasion tactics and upselling and self-marketing.' I think the above always has to be a given when dealing with any marketplace. The other person always has their own agenda and it is worth remembering that it is an agenda designed to serve their own interests and is unlikely to serve yours. This style of marketing is creeping into the mainstream a

Something that is really outrageous. Oprah Winfrey reran her TV show about the abducted child Jaycee Dugard. And Oprah, is literally sitting up on her stage telling the audience to BEWARE when they feel the creepy hairs standing up on their necks, when it comes to child abducters. That is of course good advice. but, what about the creeps, con-artists and crooks that Oprah made into household

Joseph Murphy, The Power Of Your Unconscious mind, is New Thought. He wrote zillions of books, that basically all said, do his New Thought process, and you will be healed and rich, and then gives anonymous anecdotes. Probably the reason there is not too much criticism of him, is due to timing, as he died 30 years ago. If he were alive, he would have been in The Secret. Christian Science, Joe
