Why do cults need to rewrite history? Follow the money. Caveat emptor. January 22, 2020 Cults rewrite history in the interests of their marketing plan, but when they avoid uncomfortable facts and stray far from the truth, I say, “enough.” Reading the online biographies of Bob Hoffman, the founder of the Hoffman Process, or the Quadrinity Process, I was stunned. They are awash in lies, factua

"Though the firm hand of Hoffman was always present during this period, he sought input from many sources (who sometimes did not even know that Hoffman was talking to others about the same issue). But he attributed final changes to his spirit guide, Dr. Fisher, which, I will argue, was part of the story he created to make a plausible claim that a tailor from Oakland could be the source of a

I am curious if this forum can ever reach consensus? Isn't this really a Freud versus Jung debate? The scientific method hasn't been available to explore claims by Hoffman since the neuroscience that backs up Hoffman claims are only being discovered in the last few years. Maslow himself write a whole book dedicated to the subject that science lacks the ability to get their arms ar

QuoteWhen I took my first training, the cost was $3000 US, plus the cost of time off work and child care. You took your first training. How many additional trainings did you take? What do you estimate was the total cost in dollars? I notice this thread has been dormant for a couple of years, so thought I would add to it. I was introduced to the Quadrinity process in the early 90’s, and by the end of the decade had been on both sides of the podium, as both a student and a teacher. I also knew the founder, Bob Hoffman, personally, who was, in fact, a retired Jewish tailor and very wise student of human nature. He passed aw

Dear Darrin and Driveallnight, welcome to the board. And its shitty that untrained, irresponsible people can run workshops and have it be unregulated. The Ross Institute message board has been in place for nine years and is searchable. To ensure that your search covers the entire time of the message board's existence, select the all dates option. Here is what comes up

OMG, finally stumbled upon this website and found some information about Hoffman Quadrinity Process! Darren, trust your gut, you are NOT an idiot - I did the 8 day process in 2003. I was 42 years old, had done quite a bit of therapy, and had been sober from drugs and alcohol for 10 years. I had friends in AA who'd done Hoffman and they all said it was "transformative." I was enc

I came across this forum looking for Fisher-Hoffman in the web as I'm away from my library and don't recall Fisher's christian name. DarrenR, I'm very sorry to hear what happened to you and your wife. I hope she gets on track and both of you can rebuild your lives. I'm a Hoffman graduate myself (9 a bit more than years from now) and I have read the answers posted fr

I have extensively researched the Institute and am astounded at what I've uncovered. It is not the therapeutic program that I thought it was and is based on no science and is very much a cult-like experience. This was the best article I found on the institute. It specifically deals with how the Hoffman process developed and on Hoffman's background: I won't go into much det

Dangerous Persuaders is a book published by Penguin Books in 1994. Dr. Samways included a section on Landmark Education in her book on personal development courses and cults, Dangerous Persuaders. She made no claim to have observed Landmark programs first-hand; she stated that her book : "evolved ... from thousands of personal stories told to me over many years by my patients and p

Has anyone had any experiences or know anything about The Hoffman Institutes Quadrinity Process? I have tried to find out info about the pros and cons of the Process and the Hoffman Centres, but everything seems too positive which leaves a big question mark in my mind. I would appreciate any info about the orginization. When i was reasearching i did find members on the board have been involved w

Maybe someone at the Ross Institute could get this organization on to the radar ASAP? It's aka Fischer-Hoffman Process, Hoffman Institute, Quadrinity Process. Have a look and see what you think. It appears that the organization is working its way into the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University under the guide of leadership training:

Just something I found off "The Awareness Page" at Hoffman Quadrinity Process Founder: Bob Hoffman Also involved is Charles (Raz) Ingrasci (est/Lifespring) -- I am not sure how old that info is, but considering the groups Ingrasci was involved with, be very careful with this. As you said, it sounds LGAT-ish. There is a website for 'The Hoffman Institute" at

Hi, I am massively freaked out. A friend recommended Hoffman as my wife was a bit crazy and her parents were at the root of the trouble. I cannot say too many details because I am very nervous. Long and short, we ended up stupidly believing that the 'teacher' was a normal psychotherapist. I had a BAD BAD feeling, but for various reasons we persisted; and in the end I believ

I see adverts for the Quadrinity Process in New Age catalogues like Common Ground--CG comes out quarterly in the Northern Cal/Bay Area. They have some good stuff but quite a few dodgy franchises advertise there as well. That's something to consider--a group may start out OK or even harmlessly eccentric, but may, with a change of 'ownership' mutate into something problematic. An

Well I see he keeps changing the name. They start out with the short version, it was a weekend course but it looks as though it has changed to seven days, from there they recruit to the four month, expensive process. Dr. Pecci worked with Dr. Hoffman to develop this psycho-spiritual integration nonsense in the 60s. Hoffman died and Pecci singularly took it over. He told me that BMQA suspended

If you want to get information about a group, do not content yourself with Google. You can find some helpful stuff quite often if you go further and search the various Google groups and listserves. One trend I noted in the listserve material is that Hoffman Quadrinity has been marketed to troubled families. If it is not based on tested and researched protocols that meet current standards of c

Thank you, Corboy, for your information and excellent advice. In searching the net I found information about his continued use of this technique. During the 4-month process, he solicits certain members to become facilitators and teachers. Patients are often transformed into employees (they get a percentage of the enrollment fees) and trainers. At least that's how it worked back in the 70

A lot of these mavericks busted loose during the 60s and 70s when common sense was unfashionable, even in academic circles, and fantasy over-rode fact checking. Those were the years when Carlos Castaneda wrote a novel submitted it as his Ph.D dissertation and earned a Ph.D from UCLA. His work has since been exposed as bogus. It was a good time to start a group. I suggest that you write down a

In the late 70s I was involved in psychic psychotherapy called the Fischer-Hoffman technique a.k.a. Psycho-Spiritual Integration (PSI) and later renamed the Quadrinity Process. I became a facilitator and worked directly with Dr. Ernest Pecci, a psychic psychiatrist that specialized in past-life regression and eventually had his license suspended by BMQA. In doing research, and the wealth of i
